Corporate Curly Email & Substack Manager
Worldwide
The Role You're the voice of Corporate Curly in the inbox and on Substack. Your job: nurture a community of Black professional women, convert them into believers (and buyers), and show them they're not alone navigating corporate spaces. You manage Flodesk, write Substack weekly, and use ChatGPT to speed up your work—but your voice and presence is what makes it real. What You'll Do Flodesk: Manage welcome sequences, nurture sequences, and product email campaigns (the main technical platform you need to know) Write emails that feel like advice from a big sister—conversational, real, vulnerable when appropriate Substack: Write 1 email/week (job trends, community highlights, real talk about corporate racism and how to navigate it) Community building: Respond to email replies, understand what people need, build relationships Use ChatGPT: Draft emails faster, brainstorm sequence ideas, generate subject lines, solve problems What You Won't Do: Generic email blasts or spam Hard-sell copy (we don't do that here) Anything that doesn't serve the community first Technical Requirements: Flodesk: Must know how to use this (or similar: ConvertKit, Klaviyo—but we use Flodesk) ChatGPT: Must use daily to draft, brainstorm, optimize (non-negotiable) Substack: Simple to learn once you understand email marketing Writing: Conversational, human, real (you'll get better, we'll help) We're Looking For Someone Who: Has built email sequences before (Flodesk experience is ideal) Writes like a human, not a robot or marketer Understands that email is a relationship builder, not just a sales channel Cares deeply about Black women in corporate spaces Knows how to use ChatGPT to work faster (not replace thought) Reads metrics without letting them override heart Believes community building comes before monetization Wants to be part of something bigger than just "converting" people Understands that sustainable revenue = we can keep serving this community You're NOT a Good Fit If You: Don't know how to use an email platform Write stiff, corporate copy Don't care about community (you just want to sell) Don't use AI tools and don't want to learn See subscribers as numbers, not people Think short-term wins matter more than long-term loyalty Uncomfortable with vulnerability or realness in communication Interview: We'll Ask "Show us an email sequence you've built. Walk us through the strategy and voice." "Write a sample email for Black women navigating corporate layoffs. Use ChatGPT to help. Show us your voice." "How do you think about the relationship between community building and monetization? How do they work together?" "Tell me about a time an email campaign succeeded. What made it work—metrics, voice, timing, or something else?" Hours & Time Commitment 5 hours/week (highly focused, part-time) Breakdown: ~2-3 hours Flodesk, ~1 hour Substack, ~1-2 hours community replies Async-friendly (work when it works for you) Some flexibility for strategy updates or urgent community needs Why This Role Matters Corporate Curly's email community is the heartbeat of everything. These 600-700 people (growing to 3K-4K by next year) trust you. They open emails about their worst days. They click when they need help. Every Substack you send shapes how women think about their careers. That's power. That's responsibility. That's the opportunity. The products and affiliate links we eventually promote? They're how we sustain this mission. So monetization IS serving—we're making sure this resource stays alive and grows. You're not selling. You're sustaining a movement.
