Create Simple 3D Floor Plan Model + Walkthrough Tutorial (Sweet Home 3D or SketchUp ----
Worldwide
Job Description: I’m looking for a designer to take existing 2D floor plans (scanned images) and convert them into a simple, easy-to-use 3D model that I can personally work with afterward. This is NOT an advanced architectural or CAD project. The goal is a practical layout model that I can use to test furniture placement and understand how the space flows. Software (Important): Please use ONE of the following only: Sweet Home 3D, RoomSketcher, or SketchUp (basic / non-architectural use). Please do NOT use AutoCAD, Revit, or BIM tools. Scope of Work: Part 1 – Build the 3D Model • Import my provided floor plan images • Accurately trace walls, doors, windows, and stairs • Set scale using the dimensions shown on the plans • Create a ground floor model and an upper floor model • Keep everything clean, simple, and fully editable (no construction details needed) Part 2 – File Delivery • Deliver fully editable project files • I should be able to open them on my own computer, add or move furniture, adjust layouts, and switch between 2D and 3D views Part 3 – Live Walkthrough / Tutorial Once the model is complete, we’ll schedule a live Zoom screen-share (60–90 minutes). You’ll walk me through navigating the software, adding furniture, adjusting dimensions, viewing layouts in 3D, and saving/exporting scenes. This should feel like a hands-on tutorial, not a lecture. The goal is for me to confidently continue working on layouts myself after the call. Additional Context: I have a short video walkthrough of the house with more details (flooring, wall colors, general vision, etc.). I’ll share this video with the selected freelancer to help guide the modeling. What I’m Looking For: • Experience with Sweet Home 3D, RoomSketcher, or SketchUp • Comfortable explaining things to non-technical users • Clear English communication • Practical understanding of residential layouts and furniture spacing Deliverables: • Editable 3D model files • Live Zoom walkthrough/tutorial (recording preferred) • Optional: brief usage tips or notes Budget: Open to either a fixed price or a price per model plus an hourly tutorial session. Please include which software you recommend, relevant examples (screenshots are fine), and your estimated turnaround time. Next Step: Shortlisted candidates will have a quick Zoom chat to confirm fit before moving forward.
