Creative Director / Visual Workflow Partner for Indie Rock Music Project

Creative Director / Visual Workflow Partner for Indie Rock Music Project I’m looking for a creative visual collaborator/instructor for my indie rock music project. It is a very solid recorded sound that has received some positive press with an LP on the way. This is not just a one-off editing gig. I’m looking for someone with strong visual taste who can help me build a repeatable visual workflow, teach me while we work, and potentially become an ongoing creative partner for music videos, short-form content, visual worldbuilding, and release assets. What I Need I have music, performance footage, green screen clips, DJI Osmo footage, rural/liminal footage, and a fairly specific visual identity in my head — but I need help turning that into actual high-quality visuals. I’m looking for someone who can help with some or all of the following: - Creative direction / visual identity for a music artist - Short-form vertical reels, TikToks, Instagram clips, lyric clips, teaser videos - Full or partial music videos using any practical method - Green screen compositing and background replacement - DaVinci Resolve, CapCut, Premiere, After Effects, Blender, AI video tools, or any workflow that gets strong results - Building reusable templates and systems so I can keep creating without starting from zero - Screen-share instruction where I can learn the workflow while we build real assets - Art direction for AI-assisted visuals that do not look like generic AI content - Shot lists and production guidance for what I should film next Style / Visual References The world I’m trying to build is something like: - Liminal spaces - Rural Midwest weirdness - Empty motel hallways, dead offices, parking lots, fields, basements, old houses - 90s camcorder / MiniDV / cheap digital camera energy - Early internet / CD-ROM / weird old website aesthetics - Handmade, imperfect, human, low-budget but intentional - Indie rock / punk / nu-metal attitude - Funny, lonely, eerie, emotionally real, slightly cursed - Ugly/beautiful - Soft grief mixed with violent chorus energy - Real performance footage blended with surreal or artificial backgrounds - Practical textures, analog decay, digital rot, surveillance footage, VHS-ish degradation - Not corporate, not influencer, not polished pop-star, not generic “cinematic AI” I want the visuals to feel like a real artist’s world, not a content farm. Important: I Do Not Want - Generic AI video slop - Glossy cyberpunk prompt-art - Stock “viral reel” templates - Influencer captions and trendy edits - Corporate brand identity - A random finished edit with no explanation - Someone who disappears with files and returns something I can’t learn from Ideal Working Style I would like to jump on calls semi-regularly, screen-share, and build things together. The ideal person can say things like: - “Here’s why this looks cheap.” - “Here’s how to make this feel intentional.” - “Here’s how we can build a reusable template.” - “Here’s what you should shoot next.” - “Here’s how to use AI without making it look like AI.” - “Here’s how to get this into a repeatable CapCut / Resolve / Premiere / After Effects workflow.” I want to learn from you while also getting real assets made. Possible First Phase For the first session/project, I’d like to create one or more of the following: 1. A repeatable vertical reel template using my footage 2. A 10–30 second finished music visual / teaser 3. A rough visual treatment for a full music video 4. A workflow for combining green screen performance, real footage, generated/edited backgrounds, text, grain, color, and export settings 5. A list of shots/assets I should capture next 6. A short visual style guide for the project I’m open to your recommendation on the best first step. Budget / Proposal Please propose your own structure. I’m open to hourly work, paid creative direction sessions, a first test project, or a phased collaboration. Please break down what you recommend for: - 1:1 instruction / screen-share sessions - Short-form clips/reels - Reusable template creation - Music video treatment - Full or partial music video production/editing - Ongoing creative direction I do not want to anchor this to one fixed number before seeing your approach. I’m looking for the right fit and a practical first step. Please Include in Your Proposal Please send: 1. A few examples of your work, especially music visuals, reels, experimental edits, green screen, analog/digital texture, or visually distinctive artist projects 2. What tools you prefer to use 3. Whether you are comfortable teaching over Zoom/Discord while working 4. How you would approach the first 1–2 sessions 5. Your recommended pricing structure 6. Any examples of work that feel non-generic, handmade, weird, liminal, gritty, or artist-specific Bonus if you have taste in indie rock, punk, experimental visuals, old internet aesthetics, analog video, or music video worldbuilding.
