Creative Strategist for Ads

Creative Director / Strategist (Contract) About the Role We're looking for a creative thinker with a strong performance marketing instinct to join our team on a contract basis. You'll own the creative strategy and execution of paid video and display ad content for a portfolio of e-commerce and direct-to-consumer brands. This is a hands-on role — you'll be developing angles, scripting ads, and briefing display creative regularly, always with conversion as the north star. What You'll Be Doing Developing 2–3 fresh creative angles per active account each month — hook concepts, positioning ideas, and messaging strategies tied to funnel stage and audience Writing YouTube video ad scripts on a monthly to bi-weekly cadence, from opening hook through to CTA Producing 4–6 Google Display ad sets per month across accounts, including copy and visual direction for each variant Building clear, actionable creative briefs that can be handed off for production without back-and-forth Collaborating closely with the media buyer to ensure creatives are structured for testability — clean variants, isolated variables, and clear hypotheses Joining a monthly creative debrief with the media buyer to review what's running, identify winning angles, flag underperformers, and shape the next round of creative Iterating based on performance signals — you know what metrics indicate a strong concept and when it's time to cut and move on Staying current on what's working in YouTube and display creative across e-commerce verticals What We're Looking For Proven experience scripting direct-response video ads (YouTube pre-roll, VSLs, UGC-style, etc.) Strong copywriting fundamentals — you know how to write a hook, build tension, and close Experience developing or briefing Google Display creative that drives clicks and conversions Strategic thinker who can translate a brand and offer into multiple distinct angles Comfortable working across multiple brand voices and verticals simultaneously Able to work independently, hit deadlines, and flag issues early Bonus: experience working within a Google Ads or broader performance marketing context Deliverables (Monthly) DeliverableVolumeCreative angles per active account2–3YouTube ad scripts1 per active accountGoogle Display ad sets (copy + visual brief)4–6 across accountsCreative debrief with media buyer1 Engagement Details Contract / freelance basis Flat monthly retainer — rate based on experience and account volume Deliverables on a monthly to bi-weekly schedule Remote
