Creative Video Editing and Story Telling

We are looking for a freelance video editor to help create both long-form and short-form videos using technical animation content produced by our mechanical engineering team. Our team creates 3D mechanical animations using Blender. We need a video editor who can take those animations and turn them into polished, engaging, educational videos for an engineering-focused audience. Scope of Work The video editor will be responsible for: Editing long-form YouTube-style videos Editing short-form videos for social media Creating strong hooks at the beginning of each video Structuring the video so it is educational, informative, and engaging Adding pacing, cuts, transitions, captions, overlays, and supporting visuals Working with AI-generated voiceovers from tools such as ElevenLabs Optionally working with AI-generated music or voiceover concepts from Google Gemini Helping define the creative structure and storytelling approach for each video Making technical engineering content easier to understand and more interesting to watch The mechanical engineering team will provide the core 3D animation content from Blender. We are looking for the video editor to bring the creative direction, editing structure, and storytelling flow. Target Audience The target audience is primarily men with an engineering, technical, product design, manufacturing, or mechanical background. The videos should feel professional, technical, educational, and visually engaging. Minimum requirements: Experience editing long-form and short-form video content Ability to use professional video editing software Strong sense of pacing, structure, hooks, and viewer retention Ability to make technical content clear and engaging Ability to work with provided 3D animation files, screen recordings, rendered clips, voiceovers, and reference materials Bonus skills: Adobe After Effects experience Motion graphics Visual effects Sound design Captioning and text animation Experience editing engineering, manufacturing, product design, or technical explainer content Experience with YouTube, Shorts, Instagram Reels, TikTok, or LinkedIn video formats Deliverables We are looking for support with: Long-form educational videos Short-form social media clips Hook-driven edits Informative technical explainers Edited videos using Blender animation content provided by our engineering team Content will be posted on Social media such as Youtube. https://www.youtube.com/@JayconSystems
