Creative WordPress Developer — Interactive Homepage for VR/XR Studio (Joomla → WordPress Migration)

We need a developer who can do two things well: 1. Build a genuinely interactive, animated homepage that reflects who we are — a studio that creates immersive 2D/3D and VR/XR experiences. This should react to user behavior (mouse movement, scroll, click), not just be a static hero with a video background like our current site. Think WebGL/Three.js-driven visuals, scroll-triggered animation, and a "wow" first impression — not stock WordPress themes. 2. Migrate and rebuild our full site (~45 pages) from Joomla to WordPress, including: ○ Case studies (needs a clean, repeatable template/custom post type — client, industry, tech used, outcomes, images/video) ○ Blog (with categories/tags, migrated from our existing posts) ○ Services/Solutions pages (AR, VR, Experiential Technology — titles and structure to be updated as part of this project) ○ About, Contact, and supporting pages ○ All existing images, videos, and content migrated cleanly with proper redirects (301s) from old URLs to preserve SEO value What We Need From You ● Strong WordPress development (custom themes/templates, custom post types, ACF or similar for structured content like case studies) ● Strong JavaScript, with real experience in Three.js/WebGL, GSAP, or similar for interactive/animated visuals ● Experience building homepages or interactive sites that go beyond typical page-builder templates ● Solid understanding of performance optimization for animation-heavy pages — the site needs to be lightweight and load fast, run smoothly on both mobile and desktop, and still feel visually impressive, with sensible fallbacks for lower-powered devices ● Technical SEO best practices baked into the build: semantic HTML, clean URLs, schema markup, sitemap, image alt tags, Core Web Vitals-conscious development, and proper 301 redirect mapping from our current Joomla URLs ● Basic SEO setup and documentation at handover: SEO plugin installed and configured (e.g., RankMath or Yoast), sitemap submitted, and a short written summary of what technical SEO work was done so we can hand it to an SEO specialist later without starting from scratch ● Experience migrating a CMS site (Joomla, or similar, to WordPress) is a strong plus ● Bonus: any WebXR, three.js VR/AR demo, or creative-coding portfolio work — genuinely helpful given our industry
