Summary

Part-Time Creator & Podcast Partnerships Strategist STOQ is Shopify’s leading preorder and back-in-stock app, trusted by more than 30,000 merchants worldwide and used by global brands like Levi’s, LEGO, Polaroid, Miami Heat, Pandora, JBL, Lacoste and Gibson. Shopify brands use STOQ to launch preorders, test demand, manage product launches, collect back-in-stock sign-ups, and continue capturing demand when products are unavailable. We are looking for an experienced Creator and Podcast Partnerships Strategist to increase STOQ’s visibility across: -Instagram -TikTok -YouTube Shorts -YouTube long-form -X -Relevant Shopify and ecommerce podcasts This is not a junior influencer-outreach role. We need someone who can understand our product, identify the right content and partnership opportunities, establish a clear strategy, and manage creator campaigns from direction through execution. How This Role Will Work You will have support from a team member who can assist with creator and podcast research, including sourcing potential profiles and compiling initial information. Your role will be to provide the strategy, direction, and judgment behind that research. You will be responsible for defining who we should target, establishing evaluation criteria, reviewing and prioritizing opportunities, identifying the right partnership angle, and deciding how STOQ should be positioned within each creator’s content. You may also conduct research directly when necessary, but this role is not primarily about building large lists of creators or podcasts. We need someone who can turn research into a focused partnership strategy and guide opportunities from initial evaluation through publication and ongoing relationship management. What You’ll Be Responsible For Creator partnership strategy You will help us determine: -Which platforms, creator categories, audiences, and content formats we should prioritize -Which types of creators are most likely to influence Shopify merchants -Where STOQ can be integrated naturally into existing creator content -Which opportunities should be one-off sponsorships, affiliate relationships, or longer-term partnerships -How our strategy should differ across Instagram, TikTok, YouTube Shorts, YouTube long-form, and X -How much we should invest in different creators and campaign formats -How creator partnerships can contribute to long-term brand visibility, not just immediate clicks or conversions You should be able to develop a clear point of view instead of waiting for us to provide a list of creators and instructions for approaching each one. Creator research direction and evaluation You will guide the research process and identify the types of creators who can help STOQ reach Shopify merchants, ecommerce founders, DTC brands, marketers, agencies, and online business owners. You will have research support, but you will be responsible for: -Defining the creator profiles, audiences, platforms, and content categories we should prioritize -Establishing clear criteria for evaluating creator opportunities -Reviewing and qualifying creators identified through research -Understanding what content performs on each platform -Evaluating creators based on audience relevance, content quality, credibility, engagement, commercial value, and brand fit -Reviewing previous sponsored content to understand how naturally creators integrate products -Distinguishing genuinely influential creators from accounts with inflated or low-quality engagement -Identifying potential risks before we enter a partnership -Prioritizing opportunities and determining the most suitable partnership angle for each creator -Helping maintain a focused and qualified creator pipeline We are not looking for someone who simply searches for “Shopify influencers” and sends the same message to everyone. The value of this role lies in the strategic judgment applied to the research. Partnership development and outreach You will develop relevant partnership ideas based on each creator’s audience, platform, expertise, and existing content. Potential partnership formats may include: -Shopify tutorials -Preorder or back-in-stock setup videos -Shopify app comparisons -Product launch strategy content -Ecommerce growth content featuring STOQ -Short-form product demonstrations -Sponsored posts or X threads -Newsletter placements -Affiliate partnerships -Creator-led webinars -Ongoing ambassador relationships -Multi-format or multi-platform campaigns You will be expected to understand the creator’s content before deciding how STOQ should be introduced. You will also be responsible for: -Creating personalized outreach strategies -Writing or reviewing outreach messages -Managing follow-ups -Handling partnership discussions -Negotiating deliverables, pricing, usage rights, and timelines -Deciding when an opportunity should or should not be pursued We are not interested in high-volume, generic outreach. Campaign strategy and management You will manage creator partnerships end to end, including: -Developing the campaign concept -Selecting the right creator and content format -Defining deliverables -Creating creator briefs -Coordinating product onboarding -Helping creators understand STOQ and its use cases -Developing content angles -Managing timelines -Reviewing concepts, scripts, and content -Identifying inaccurate product claims -Coordinating revisions -Tracking publication -Monitoring campaign performance -Reporting results and learnings -Maintaining creator relationships after campaigns end You should be able to give creators enough direction to communicate STOQ accurately without making their content feel overly scripted or unnatural. You should also be able to recognize when STOQ should be central to the content and when it should be integrated more subtly into a broader Shopify or ecommerce topic. Podcast strategy and outreach We also want to secure relevant podcast appearances for STOQ’s founder and CEO. This includes established Shopify, ecommerce, DTC, SaaS, founder, and technology podcasts. You will be responsible for: -Defining which types of podcasts we should prioritize -Reviewing and qualifying podcasts identified through research -Understanding each show’s audience, format, previous guests, and recurring themes -Identifying where our founder has a credible and differentiated perspective -Developing relevant episode ideas -Creating tailored pitches for hosts and producers -Managing outreach and follow-ups -Coordinating scheduling and communication -Helping prepare positioning notes and talking points -Ensuring pitches are educational and relevant rather than promotional We do not want to pitch our founder simply to talk about STOQ. The strongest opportunities will be built around useful lessons, experiences, or points of view that are relevant to the podcast’s audience. Content visibility and discoverability People increasingly discover and understand products through content published across: -YouTube -TikTok -Instagram -X -Reddit -Podcasts -Search engines -AI assistants and large language models We therefore want to think beyond isolated sponsored posts. Our goal is to develop a consistent body of credible, useful third-party content around topics connected to STOQ, such as (but not limited to): - Shopify preorders - Back-in-stock alerts - Product launches - Inventory risk - Demand testing - Selling products before manufacturing - Selling out-of-stock products - Limited product drops - Increasing Shopify revenue - Growing an ecommerce store - Choosing Shopify apps - Improving product-launch performance - Managing stockouts - Building demand before a launch Experience with content distribution, social search, SEO, Reddit, audience research, or AI-search discoverability is valuable. However, we are looking for someone who understands that discoverability comes from creating genuinely useful and relevant content, not simply inserting keywords or brand mentions everywhere. What We’re Looking For You should have meaningful professional experience in one or more of the following: -Creator or influencer partnerships -Influencer campaign strategy -Podcast booking and guest outreach -Founder or executive media outreach -Ecommerce or Shopify marketing -B2B SaaS partnerships -Content partnerships -Affiliate or ambassador programs -Public relations -Creator-led growth -Brand partnerships You should be able to demonstrate: -Strong strategic thinking -Excellent judgment when evaluating creators -The ability to understand different social platforms and content formats -Thoughtful, personalized outreach -Strong written communication -The ability to understand a technical product and translate it into useful content -Experience managing campaigns beyond the initial outreach stage -Confidence making recommendations and explaining your reasoning -Strong negotiation and relationship-management skills -Reliable daily execution and follow-through -Comfort working independently -The ability to collaborate with and direct a research resource Experience with Shopify, ecommerce, DTC brands, SaaS, creator marketing, or founder-led content will be especially valuable. This Role Is Not a Fit If -Your approach is primarily based on mass outreach -You rely heavily on generic email templates -You evaluate creators mainly by follower count -Your experience is limited to building influencer lists -You have only managed gifting campaigns or basic product seeding -You need detailed instructions for every creator or opportunity -You have never managed a partnership beyond initial outreach -You are uncomfortable reviewing content or giving creators strategic direction -You are looking for a junior influencer-marketing role -You cannot consistently commit time to the work throughout the week Time Commitment - 25–30 hours per week - Part-time, ongoing engagement - Consistent weekday availability is required - This role requires diligent daily execution, not occasional campaign work What Success Looks Like Within the first few months, we expect this person to: -Establish a clear creator and podcast partnership strategy -Define the platforms, audiences, creator types, and content formats we should prioritize -Turn the team’s research into a well-qualified and prioritized pipeline -Develop a repeatable creator-evaluation process -Improve the quality and personalization of our outreach -Launch partnerships across multiple content platforms -Secure relevant podcast opportunities for STOQ’s founder -Help creators integrate STOQ naturally and accurately into their content -Create a healthy pipeline of active, upcoming, and long-term partnerships -Build relationships with creators rather than treating every campaign as a one-time transaction -Report clearly on opportunities, outreach, responses, negotiations, campaign status, costs, content published, results, and next steps -Use campaign results to continuously improve our strategy How to Apply Please include the following in your application: 1. A brief introduction explaining your relevant experience. 2. Examples of creator, influencer, podcast, or content partnerships you have managed. 3. A clear explanation of your exact role in those campaigns. 4. Links to content or partnerships you helped execute 5. One Shopify or ecommerce creator you believe could be relevant for STOQ, why you would prioritize them, and the partnership angle you would propose. 6. One podcast you would consider pitching for our founder and the episode angle you would recommend. 7. A brief explanation of how you would use a research assistant or team member effectively in this role. 8. Your weekly availability, timezone, and expected hourly rate. Applications containing generic or copy-pasted/AI responses will not be considered. Use the word 'strategist' when starting your proposal.
