# Curriculum Designer / Learning Experience Designer – Design, STEM & Creative Technology (Grades 1–9) We are an education company developing a **creative, project-based learning programme for students from Grades 1–9**. We are looking for an experienced **Curriculum Designer / Learning Experience Designer** who can help us structure a complete grade-wise curriculum covering **digital design, art & creativity, 2D design tools, CAD, design thinking, STEM and project-based learning**. We already have the overall direction, several curriculum ideas, tools and internal resources available. We now need someone who can bring these together into a **well-structured, age-appropriate and practical Grade 1–9 learning pathway**. We are open to two engagement models: 1. **Complete curriculum development by the freelancer** 2. **Curriculum structuring + supervision of our content-development team** Please provide quotations for both options separately. ## Scope of Work ### 1. Grade 1–9 Curriculum Architecture Develop a clear learning progression across Grades 1–9, including: * Grade-wise curriculum structure * Modules/topics for each grade * Learning objectives and outcomes * Skill progression across grades * Number and type of sessions * Appropriate difficulty levels * Project/activity progression * Practical vs conceptual learning balance * Assessment/project-output ideas The curriculum should progress from **simple creative and design activities for younger students to more structured design, technology and STEM projects for higher grades**. ### 2. Design & Technology Tool Mapping Identify appropriate tools, concepts and skills for different age groups. The curriculum may involve areas such as: * Digital art and design * 2D graphic-design tools * Vector graphics * Photoshop/Illustrator-style workflows * CAD concepts * 2D/3D design * Design thinking * STEM activities and projects * Basic electronics/making where appropriate * Product/design projects * Digital fabrication concepts * Creative technology The selected freelancer should therefore be comfortable understanding **both creative-design tools and STEM/design-based learning**. ### 3. Activity & Project Planning For each grade/module, help identify suitable: * Activities * Mini projects * Final projects * Design challenges * Creative exercises * STEM applications * Real-world project references We are particularly interested in **hands-on and project-based learning rather than a theory-heavy curriculum**. You should be comfortable researching references and suggesting interesting activities that can be adapted for different age groups. ### 4. School Implementation Structure Help us structure the curriculum so that it can practically be implemented within schools, including: * Session duration * Number of sessions per academic year * Grade-wise programme structure * Timetable integration * Module duration * Project milestones * Expected student outputs * Learning outcomes * Possible programme/package combinations The objective is to create a curriculum that is both **educationally strong and practical for schools to implement**. ## Engagement Options ### Option 1 – Complete Curriculum Development Please provide your quotation if you take responsibility for the **complete Grade 1–9 curriculum development**, including: * Curriculum architecture and grade-wise progression * Modules and learning outcomes * Activity/project identification and research * Detailed lesson/activity content * Project documentation * Content required for implementation * Reviews and corrections * Finalisation of the curriculum Please clearly mention what deliverables would be included and your estimated timeline. ### Option 2 – Curriculum Structuring + Team Supervision Under this model, we will provide **interns/junior content developers for detailed content creation and documentation**. Your responsibility will include: * Curriculum architecture and grade-wise progression * Module/topic planning * Learning outcomes * Activity/project planning * Research and suitable references * Creating clear briefs for the content team * Assigning work to the team * Periodic follow-ups with team members * Reviewing completed content * Providing corrections and feedback * Ensuring age appropriateness * Checking technical accuracy * Maintaining consistency across Grades 1–9 * Final review and approval Your workflow would broadly be: **Plan → Assign → Review → Give Feedback → Approve** Under this option, you will **not be expected to personally prepare every detailed lesson, tutorial or activity document**. We will provide the resources required for detailed execution. ## Preferred Candidate Background We strongly prefer candidates with previous experience in one or more of the following: * EdTech curriculum development * School curriculum design * STEM / STEAM education * Design education * Project-based learning * Creative technology education * Educational content development Candidates from backgrounds such as the following may be particularly suitable: * Architecture * Product / Industrial Design * Engineering * Visual Communication * Design Education * STEM Education * Educational Technology * Instructional / Learning Design ## Preferred Technical Knowledge Good familiarity with some of the following would be highly valuable: * Adobe Photoshop * Adobe Illustrator * Other 2D/vector design tools * CAD software * 2D/3D modelling concepts * Design thinking * STEM projects * Basic electronics * Digital fabrication * Maker education You do **not** need to be an expert in every tool. However, we are specifically looking for someone who is technically comfortable with **design, creative and STEM tools** and can understand which concepts, tools and projects would be appropriate for students at different age levels. ## What We Are NOT Looking For This is **not a conventional academic content-writing assignment**. We are not looking for someone whose experience is limited to theoretical lesson plans or textbook content. The programme is intended to be: **Creative + Practical + Design-oriented + Technology-driven + Project-based** We are looking for someone who can understand the bigger learning journey from Grades 1–9 and help us create a curriculum where students progressively develop meaningful creative, design and technical skills. ## Project Duration We expect the initial engagement to run for approximately **6–8 weeks**, depending on the selected engagement model and agreed deliverables. For the supervision model, the first phase will focus more heavily on curriculum architecture and activity planning, followed by periodic supervision and review of content produced by our team. This is a **project-based freelance engagement**. ## When Applying Please share: 1. Your educational and professional background 2. A brief explanation of how you would approach developing a Grade 1–9 curriculum ### Please provide TWO separate quotations: **Option 1:** Fixed-price quote if you **develop and prepare the complete curriculum and content**. **Option 2:** Fixed-price quote if you **structure the curriculum and supervise/review the work of interns/content developers provided by us**. Please include the **estimated timeline for each option** and clearly state what is included in your quotation. Additional information regarding the programme, tools, existing curriculum direction and internal resources will be shared with shortlisted candidates.
