Custom Joan Didion-Inspired Literary Illustration for Jigsaw Puzzle Gift

I am looking for an illustrator to create one original piece of artwork that I will have manufactured as a custom jigsaw puzzle gift. The recipient is a serious jigsaw puzzle enthusiast and a big Joan Didion fan. I want the illustration to evoke Joan Didion’s literary world rather than simply reproduce a photograph of her. The finished image should feel sophisticated, literary, slightly melancholic, and visually rich. Think California in the 1960s and 1970s, writing, travel, journalism, highways, dry landscapes, and Didion’s distinctive aesthetic. I envision a detailed literary still life or layered scene containing subtle references to Didion’s life and work.
