Worldwide
We are seeking a U.S.-based Subject Matter Expert (SME) in Cybersecurity Awareness to review and refine an existing pre-hire Cybersecurity assessment. You will work closely with our in-house Content Specialist to evaluate every item in the question bank, identify gaps, and help us build a polished, job-relevant assessment blueprint. We value open communication, regular check-ins, and a collaborative approach to quality. ________________________________________ This project involves: Assessment Scope & Structure Before diving into the question bank, you will: • Propose or validate a clear list of key cybersecurity subtopics, including real-world threat scenarios • Recommend the approximate number of questions per subtopic, aligned with U.S. industry and educational standards (e.g., NIST, CIS Controls, NICE Framework) Assessment Review – Evaluate the completed question bank (100 questions), with a focus on: • Clarity and accessibility of language and instructions • Alignment with real-life and workplace threat scenarios • Appropriate difficulty levels, especially for entry-level and mid-level candidates • Overall quality, relevance, technical accuracy, and validity of questions • Coverage of current and emerging risk areas, including AI-related threats (e.g., phishing at scale, deepfakes, automated social engineering, misuse of generative AI tools) Content Quality Review – For all existing questions: • Correct factual or technical inaccuracies • Identify outdated, unclear, or misleading items • Flag content that no longer reflects current threat landscapes or industry best practices • Improve clarity and logical consistency of answer choices Refinement – Based on your review, suggest and implement improvements where needed, including: • Simplifying language and instructions without sacrificing technical accuracy • Strengthening scenario-based questions that reflect realistic security incidents • Adjusting difficulty levels to match target candidate profiles • Ensuring emerging and AI-driven risk areas are adequately represented If gaps are identified, you may be asked to draft new questions for underrepresented topics and strengthen sections that lack sufficient coverage. (Paid separately as an optional milestone.) Final Assessment Selection Using our Test Blueprint template, you will select a final set of 40 questions (from existing and newly created ones) to form the completed pre-hire Cybersecurity Awareness assessment. Planned project duration: 3–4 weeks. ________________________________________ Requirements • Based in the United States • Strong background in Cybersecurity — industry, education, or both • Hands-on familiarity with real-world cybersecurity threats and incidents • Knowledge of current and emerging risks, including AI-driven threats (e.g., AI-enabled phishing, deepfakes, automated social engineering, generative AI misuse) • Familiarity with U.S. cybersecurity standards and frameworks • Proven experience developing or reviewing cognitive, psychometric, or professional assessments, certification content, or security training materials • Ability to translate complex cybersecurity concepts into clear, scenario-based assessment questions suitable for pre-hire screening • High attention to accuracy, relevance, and up-to-date best practices • Background in psychology, instructional design, or cognitive science is a plus ________________________________________ Tools The expert is expected to use provided templates. Proficiency with MS Word and MS Excel is required. ________________________________________ Cooperation Model Work will be conducted in close, ongoing collaboration with the Content Specialist. Regular consultations and feedback rounds are expected throughout all stages of the project. ________________________________________ Before You Begin Upon signing the contract, you will be asked to complete a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) and our Ethical AI Use Guidelines.
