Summary

Job Title: Cybersecurity Talent Sourcer & Recruiter Location: Remote | Full Time | Freelance Compensation: $1,000 USD/month + $1,000 Bonus Per Role Hired About Us We are a growing talent acquisition agency partnering with ambitious technology companies to build exceptional engineering and security organizations. We are currently expanding our recruitment team to support a new client specializing in digital commerce and AI-powered customer experiences. We are looking for an experienced Cybersecurity Talent Sourcer/Recruiter to help us identify, engage, and place top-tier security professionals across all levels — from Security Engineer to CISO. What You’ll Recruit You will be directly responsible for sourcing and hiring cybersecurity talent for our clients. You will own the full recruitment cycle for the following critical roles: Security Engineer Cybersecurity Analyst SOC Analyst Penetration Tester Security Architect GRC Consultant (Governance, Risk, and Compliance) Information Security Manager CISO (Chief Information Security Officer) This is a research-driven recruitment role. The best cybersecurity professionals are rarely actively looking for new opportunities. Success comes from understanding threat landscapes, security frameworks, and defensive/offensive strategies, and mapping the market to uncover passive talent who thrive in high-stakes, compliance-driven, and rapidly evolving environments. Approximately: 70% Sourcing & Outreach 30% Vetting, Assessment, and Coordination Key Responsibilities Market Map the Cybersecurity Talent Space: Identify and map the security talent market across all seniority levels, with a focus on candidates who have experience in SIEM, IDS/IPS, endpoint protection, cloud security (AWS/Azure/GCP), application security, vulnerability management, and compliance frameworks (NIST, ISO 27001, SOC 2, GDPR). Source Exceptional Candidates: Proactively find specialized security professionals through LinkedIn, GitHub (checking contributions to security tools like Metasploit, Burp Suite, or OWASP projects), Stack Overflow, and niche cybersecurity communities (e.g., Reddit r/netsec, Wilders Security, and Discord/Slack security groups). Build Outreach Campaigns: Create and execute executive-level outreach to engage passive security talent who understand incident response, threat hunting, zero-trust architecture, and security automation. Conduct Specialized Screening: Review applications and resumes to assess a candidate's hands-on experience — including their proficiency with security tools, scripting (Python, Bash, PowerShell), cloud security posture management, and penetration testing methodologies. Manage Interview Process: Coordinate and conduct initial screening calls to evaluate technical depth, risk assessment thinking, and cross-functional collaboration skills with development and IT operations teams. Present Shortlisted Candidates: Submit qualified security profiles to our team and clients for final review and selection. Maintain Pipeline: Track all candidates in our internal hiring system with appropriate tags (e.g., "SIEM," "Cloud Security," "PenTest," "GRC," "SOC," "Zero Trust," "CISSP") and statuses. How We Expect You to Source We will provide access to LinkedIn Recruiter. However, we expect our sourcers to go significantly beyond LinkedIn. Successful candidates in this role will regularly source through: GitHub and open-source security projects (to find engineers contributing to OWASP tools, Snort, Zeek, or other security frameworks). Technical forums and Slack/Discord communities (e.g., OWASP Slack, Black Hat briefings groups, Cybersecurity Discord servers, and local ISACA/ISC² chapters). Conference attendee lists and speaker rosters (Black Hat, DEF CON, RSA Conference, SANS Summit, Gartner Security & Risk Management). Stack Overflow and developer Q&A platforms (to identify engineers with deep troubleshooting, exploit analysis, and secure coding expertise). Executive referrals from former CISOs, Security Directors, and IT Risk VPs. Niche job boards and newsletters focused on cybersecurity (e.g., CyberSecJobs, Infosec Jobs, Security Cleared Jobs). We are looking for someone who genuinely enjoys finding talent that other recruiters miss in the cybersecurity vertical. Requirements 2–3+ years of recruitment or talent sourcing experience, with a strong focus on Cybersecurity, Information Security, or GRC roles. Proven experience hiring for positions such as Security Engineer, SOC Analyst, Penetration Tester, Security Architect, GRC Consultant, Information Security Manager, or CISO. Ability to speak the language of the security world — you understand the difference between a SOC Analyst and a Threat Hunter, what a Security Architect does vs. a GRC Consultant, and you know where to find them. Familiarity with modern security tools and practices (SIEM, EDR, firewalls, IAM, PKI, vulnerability scanners, cloud security posture management, Zero Trust, and DevSecOps) is a strong plus. Excellent communication skills — both written and verbal (you must be able to engage senior security engineers and CISOs). Strong attention to detail (especially when reviewing technical experience, certifications like CISSP, CEH, OSCP, CISM, and incident response track records). Full-time availability (around 40 hours per week). Ability to work independently and meet weekly sourcing targets (5–10 qualified candidate profiles per week). Compensation $1,000 USD per month (base salary for the 3-month contract). $1,000 USD bonus for every Cybersecurity/InfoSec candidate you successfully place and who is hired by our client. Monthly payments. Initial project expected to last around 3 months, with the opportunity for a long-term partnership.
