DNS/Email Technician for Domain Review

# Hands-On Domain, DNS, and Email Records Support for Website Launches I run a small website and digital presence service for local businesses. I build simple websites, often using Hostinger or similar website builders. Most projects are straightforward. If a domain has no business email attached, I can usually connect it myself by following the normal Hostinger nameserver process. However, when a business uses domain-based email, has unclear DNS records, multiple providers, previous-provider access issues, or anything beyond a simple nameserver change, I want a technical specialist to handle the domain, DNS, and email-record side of the launch. I am looking for a reliable DNS/email technician who can provide hands-on support on a project-by-project basis. ## What I Need You To Do For each project, I may need you to: * Review the current domain, DNS, website, and email setup * Identify the domain registrar * Identify where DNS is currently managed * Identify the current website host or platform * Determine whether domain-based email is in use * Identify existing MX, SPF, DKIM, DMARC, A, CNAME, TXT, and other important DNS records * Decide the safest method to connect the new website * Preserve existing email functionality * Make the required DNS updates when proper access is available * Connect the domain to the new website, often hosted on Hostinger * Avoid interrupting business email * Confirm the website loads correctly after DNS changes * Confirm email-related DNS records are still in place after changes * Provide a simple summary of what was changed and any follow-up needed ## Common Situations I may bring you in when: * The business uses domain-based email * The business uses Google Workspace or Microsoft 365 * The domain, website, and email are managed by different companies * Hostinger recommends changing nameservers, but email records need to be preserved * A previous web designer, marketing company, or provider controlled the domain * The current domain or DNS provider is unclear * The business is using GoDaddy, Namecheap, Squarespace, Wix, Hostinger, Bluehost, WordPress.com, Shopify, or another provider * The safest path may be updating A/CNAME records instead of changing nameservers * The live DNS changes should be handled by someone with more technical experience ## Main Goal The main goal is simple: Connect the new website without interrupting existing business email. I do not need a long technical report. I need someone who can safely handle the technical work, make the correct DNS changes, and clearly explain what was done. ## Access and Security All work and communication should remain within Upwork according to Upwork’s Terms of Service. Access will be handled in a secure and appropriate way based on the platform, provider, and project needs. No sensitive credentials should be shared through unsafe methods. You must be comfortable working carefully with live business domains and email-related DNS records. ## Deliverables for Each Project For each project, I need: 1. Confirmation of the current registrar and DNS provider 2. Confirmation of whether domain-based email appears to be in use 3. Identification of email-related DNS records that must be preserved 4. The DNS connection method used 5. Confirmation that the website is connected or pending DNS propagation 6. Confirmation that email-related records were preserved 7. A short plain-English summary of what was changed 8. Any follow-up items needed before launch is considered complete ## Preferred Working Style I am looking for someone who is: * cautious with live DNS changes * experienced with domain-based email * comfortable with Hostinger website launches * familiar with GoDaddy, Namecheap, Squarespace, Wix, Hostinger, Bluehost, WordPress.com, Shopify, Google Workspace, and Microsoft 365 * able to work with small business websites * clear and practical * willing to explain only what is needed * available for occasional project-based work ## Ongoing Work Potential This is not a full-time role. I am looking for someone I can bring in when a domain, DNS, or email setup is beyond a simple nameserver change. If the first project goes well, I would like to keep working together on future launches when this type of technical support is needed. ## Please Include in Your Reply Please include: * Your experience with DNS and business email records * Platforms you have worked with * Whether you have experience connecting Hostinger websites while preserving Google Workspace or Microsoft 365 email * Whether you can make DNS changes directly when proper access is available * Your typical turnaround time for a small business domain connection * Your estimated cost for a standard domain/DNS/email connection task * Any information you need before starting
