DaVinci Resolve Colorist Needed to Create a Reusable Grade and Project Template
Worldwide
I’m looking for an experienced DaVinci Resolve colorist to help optimize the look of my instructional guitar videos. The footage is already quite good, and I’m generally happy with both cameras. I’m not trying to correct a major problem or create a dramatic cinematic style. I’d like to see whether an experienced colorist can give the videos a more polished, natural, commercial-quality finish. The videos are recorded in a consistent home-studio setup using the same lighting, camera positions, and camera settings from session to session. My cameras are: * **Sony a7C** — main camera used for most of the video * **Sony a7R III** — secondary camera used occasionally for close-up shots and emphasis ## Phase 1: Small Paid Test I’d like to begin by hiring a few selected candidates to grade a short **15–30 second portion of the original footage**. For the test, I’d like you to: * Improve the overall look while keeping it natural * Refine skin tones, contrast, clarity, and tonal balance as needed * Avoid an overly stylized, harsh, or artificial appearance * Provide a clear before-and-after comparison The purpose of this first phase is to see what improvement you can create and how well your approach fits the look I want. ## Phase 2: Complete Reusable Setup After reviewing the test results, I’ll choose one colorist to complete the full project. That phase would include: * Creating the final approved grade * Applying it to one completed video * Creating reusable PowerGrades for both cameras * Creating a reusable DaVinci Resolve project template or recommended project setup * Recommending export settings for Vimeo, my membership website, and YouTube * Providing reference stills showing the approved look * Recording a short screen-share video showing my editor how to apply the grades and make small adjustments * Providing clear written instructions for future use My editor currently uses **DaVinci Resolve 19 Free**. The final deliverables must work in that version and should not depend on Studio-only tools. Clear communication is important. My editor’s first language is Vietnamese, so the final walkthrough and written instructions should be simple, practical, and easy to follow. For now, please let me know: * Your price for the 15–30 second paid test * How quickly you could complete it * Whether you’d be available for Phase 2 if selected I value experience and quality more than finding the lowest price. I’d also be interested in working with the right colorist for occasional future consultations.
