Dark Romance Development Writer (Plot, Characters & Chapter Outlines) – Ongoing Work We're looking for an experienced **dark romance development writer** to join our publishing team on a long-term basis. This is **not** a traditional ghostwriting role. We have already created the worlds, series concepts, recurring story structures, and publishing strategy. Your role is to take our framework and develop it into compelling, commercially successful stories. ## What You'll Be Doing For each book, you will: * Develop the unique plot within the series framework we provide. * Create memorable, emotionally compelling characters that fit the established world. * Write approximately **30 chapter summaries** for a **75,000-word novel**. * Ensure each book feels fresh and original while remaining true to the overall series structure. * Review the manuscript after it has (then) been generated through our proprietary AI-assisted writing process and suggest edits where necessary. * Write believable, emotionally powerful romantic tension and convincing steamy scenes. ## Current Series We are currently hiring for two ongoing dark romance series: 1. Bodyguard Romance A protective bodyguard romance featuring a **strong, capable heroine with agency**. She is not a passive victim and can stand on her own. We're looking for writers who enjoy writing intelligent, confident women alongside powerful, obsessive heroes. 2. Cult Leader Romance A psychological dark romance in which the heroine chooses to join a cult (we have a convincing reason why she joins mapped out that will match the character psychology of agency/confidence etc.) Again, she is a woman with agency who actively drives the story rather than simply reacting to it. A key part of both series is writing female protagonists who are resilient, intelligent and make meaningful choices throughout the story. ## What We're Looking For You should: * Have a strong understanding of **commercially successful dark romance**. * Be excellent at creating plots, conflict, pacing and character arcs. * Understand how to structure stories that keep readers turning pages. * Be comfortable writing romance with high emotional tension and steamy scenes. * Be reliable, collaborative and happy working within an established series bible. ## About Our Process We use a proprietary AI-assisted production system developed specifically for our publishing company. Your creative work forms the foundation of each novel.
