Data Entry Technician for Website Data Editing and Maintenance

Summary/Objective The data entry technician performs data entry of information to maintain database(s) through custom software. This position is responsible for accuracy, efficiency and retrieval of information from different Internet based sources for entering as data. The data entry technician will proof material entered as required and maintain data as required. Essential Functions * Performs data entry using custom software. * Enters, revises and/or combines data for optimum website performance. * Collects relevant information of data and information for use for data entry. * Creates and maintains cloud files of entered data if required. * Performs routine maintenance tasks related to data or files technical assistance requests as necessary. * Reviews discrepancies in data received, requests clarification or advises supervisor of issues related to data and performs data verification routines in accordance with company procedures. * Interacts with departmental and other staff on matters affecting data and makes recommendations for improvement or enhancement to job processes to ensure standards in data entry, collection and retrieval. Work Environment This job operates in a professional virtual office environment. This role requires access to a computer with internet connection, in a secure and private environment. The use of the Upwork team app to register working hours is a requirement. Position Type/Expected Hours of Work Flexibility in hours is allowed, but 40 hours per week availability is expected. Travel No travel is expected for this position. Required Education and Experience * Experienced in data entry primarily entering text strings and URL’s in a variety of specialized formats. * Knowledge of word processing and basic spreadsheet. Experience with specialized software is a pre. * Converstational English (verbally and written). Preferred Education and Experience Two year college level (technical) or equivalent. Additional Requirements Signing of a Non Disclosure Agreement is required.
