Data Scientist/Geospatial Data Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Data Scientist/Geospatial Data Specialist to develop a comprehensive, integrated analytical platform. The platform will combine demographic, economic, and geospatial data to provide insights and support decision-making. The ideal candidate will have expertise in data science and geospatial data analysis, with the ability to integrate multiple data sources and develop user-friendly interfaces. ### 1.Data Acquisition and Integration Integrate and harmonize multiple datasets, including: * Household survey data. * Population census data. * Socioeconomic and demographic datasets. * Real estate and property market datasets. * Utility and infrastructure datasets. * Natural resource datasets in both vector and raster formats. * Other relevant public and proprietary datasets identified during the project. The objective is to create a consolidated database that allows analysis across geographic, socioeconomic, environmental, and market dimensions. ### 2. Geospatial Database Development Develop GIS-ready spatial datasets and workflows using tools such as: * Python * GeoPandas * Rasterio * Shapely * GDAL * QGIS and/or ArcGIS Tasks include: * Processing shapefiles, GeoPackages, raster imagery, and related geospatial formats. * Creating GIS layers from utility and infrastructure information. * Developing spatial joins, overlays, and geoprocessing workflows. * Building a structured geospatial database suitable for future updates and analysis. ### 3. Data Analysis and Insight Generation Using the integrated dataset, conduct analyses to: * Identify geographic patterns and market opportunities. * Assess relationships between socioeconomic conditions, infrastructure, natural resources, and real estate markets. * Generate indicators and metrics relevant to strategic planning. * Produce actionable insights that support evidence-based decision-making. ### 4. Dashboard Development Design and develop an interactive dashboard that allows stakeholders to: * Visualize key indicators and trends. * Explore data through maps and geographic filters. * Analyze market, demographic, infrastructure, and environmental conditions. * Access summary statistics and decision-support metrics. Dashboard tools may include Power BI, Tableau, Streamlit, Dash, or similar platforms.
