Database Administrator + Data Engineer

Data Engineer + Database Administrator Location: LATAM Employment: Full-time We're looking for a Senior Data Engineer / Database Administrator to join a long-term product team building an enterprise-grade SaaS platform for global eCommerce brands. This hands-on role combines database administration, SQL performance optimization, and ETL development. You'll work with high-load PostgreSQL and MySQL environments, optimize data pipelines, and help modernize the platform's cloud infrastructure. About the Project Our client is a US-based company with a mature product used by leading brands for marketplace monitoring, pricing compliance, and analytics. As part of the engineering team, you'll improve database performance, optimize ETL processes, and contribute to the platform's ongoing cloud modernization. Team You'll work alongside experienced backend engineers, infrastructure specialists, solution architects, and the CTO in a collaborative engineering environment with regular code reviews and technical discussions. Key Responsibilities Optimize complex SQL queries and database performance Build and maintain ETL pipelines Administer PostgreSQL and MySQL production environments Design scalable database schemas and indexing strategies Tune PostgreSQL configuration, replication, and resource usage Improve data loading and transformation workflows Must-Have Skills -5+ years of experience supporting high-volume, high-availability, multi-tenant database systems -5+ years of advanced SQL (complex queries, stored procedures, functions, query optimization) -2+ years of experience with ETL development and data -transformation pipelines -2+ years of experience administering PostgreSQL and MySQL in production environments -2+ years of experience with AWS cloud services -Spanish (daily communication) -English sufficient for technical interviews Nice to Have Snowflake ClickHouse BigQuery Databricks or Yellowbrick MongoDB, Redis, Elasticsearch Docker If you enjoy solving complex SQL problems, optimizing high-load databases, building reliable ETL pipelines, and working on large-scale cloud infrastructure, we'd love to hear from you.
