Freelance Dental Writer / Editor – Implant, Restorative and Prosthodontic Dentistry We are seeking a highly capable freelance dental writer/editor to assist with the development of high-quality written content relating to implant dentistry, prosthodontics, restorative dentistry, occlusion, and full-mouth rehabilitation. The role is suited to someone who can take rough clinical ideas, case notes, voice dictation, treatment concepts, and literature references, and convert them into polished, accurate, engaging written articles for a professional dental audience. Scope of work The successful candidate may assist with: Ghostwriting professional dental articles based on clinical concepts, notes, and dictated material Editing and refining existing drafts of educational or clinical articles Assisting with case reports, treatment planning articles, and discussion pieces Producing literature-supported content on topics including implant dentistry, prosthodontics, restorative dentistry, occlusion, surgery, and aesthetic rehabilitation Helping structure articles logically and clearly while preserving the clinician’s voice and intent Potentially adapting long-form content into shorter educational pieces, website articles, or professional social media content where required Ideal candidate We are looking for someone with: A strong background in dentistry, prosthodontics, oral surgery, implant dentistry, dental research, or medical/scientific writing within dentistry Excellent written English and editorial ability Experience writing for a professional dental audience Familiarity with implant workflows, restorative treatment planning, prosthodontic concepts, full-arch rehabilitation, occlusal rehabilitation, and surgical-restorative sequencing The ability to work from rough notes, voice dictation, bullet points, or partially developed ideas A sound understanding of evidence-based dentistry and the ability to incorporate literature appropriately where required A professional, discreet, and collaborative working style Preferred but not essential Dental qualification (DDS, DMD, BDS or equivalent) Experience in academic writing, case report preparation, or journal manuscript editing Experience with ghostwriting under a clinician’s direction Familiarity with Australian or UK dental terminology and clinical communication style What success looks like The ideal person will be able to take a complex clinical topic and turn it into a clear, well-structured article that: Reads naturally and professionally Reflects the clinician’s perspective and voice Maintains technical accuracy Is suitable for publication, education, referral communication, or professional marketing depending on the brief Initial trial task Shortlisted candidates may be asked to complete a paid trial task, such as: Converting a rough clinical concept or dictated case discussion into a polished 800–1,500 word article Editing an existing article draft for structure, clarity, and professional tone Producing a literature-supported article on a restorative or implant-related topic To apply, please provide: A brief summary of your background Details of any dental, scientific, or medical qualifications Examples of previous dental or medical writing, particularly in implant, restorative, prosthodontic, or surgical topics Your preferred rate structure (hourly or per article) Confirmation that you are comfortable working from dictated notes, rough concepts, and ghostwritten material This is likely to suit someone seeking an ongoing collaborative role rather than a once-off writing task.
