# Design Assistant Manager– Construction & Development **Remote | $10.00/hour | Minimum 20 hours/week guaranteed | Potential Full-Time Opportunity** We are seeking an experienced Design Assistant to help develop and standardize our design and construction processes for hospitality, cabin, glamping, and development projects. This is a long-term position with growth opportunities for the right candidate. ## Responsibilities * Create and maintain design standards, design guidelines, SOPs, workflow charts, and project processes * Research design ideas, construction methods, materials, products, and industry trends * Use AI tools such as ChatGPT, Midjourney, Claude, Gemini, and Perplexity for research, concept development, and idea exploration * Prepare construction cost studies, budgeting analysis, and value engineering recommendations * Source materials, fixtures, furniture, equipment, and vendors from different countries * Compare suppliers, obtain pricing, track lead times, and recommend purchasing decisions * Recruit and coordinate architects, engineers, designers, consultants, and vendors * Conduct virtual construction site inspections through photos, videos, reports, and video meetings * Work closely with on-site superintendents and field teams * Prepare and submit material orders and coordinate material deliveries * Create Excel templates, dashboards, and tracking systems for budgeting, scheduling, procurement, inventory, consultants, vendors, and project milestones * Continuously improve project systems, workflows, and documentation ## Requirements * Minimum 10 years of experience in architecture, construction, design management, project management, engineering coordination, or related fields * Strong understanding of the entire design and construction process from concept through project completion * Familiarity with U.S. wood-frame construction methods, including framing, siding, roofing, insulation, windows, doors, HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems * Experience with construction budgeting, cost analysis, procurement, and international material sourcing * Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications * Familiarity with the International Building Code (IBC), International Residential Code (IRC), and other commonly adopted U.S. building codes * Strong understanding of hospitality, hotel, resort, glamping, cabin, or lodging development projects * Advanced Excel skills with the ability to create project tracking systems and management dashboards * Ability to create workflow charts, process maps, SOPs, and operational systems * Proficiency with AI tools such as ChatGPT and Midjourney * Excellent English communication skills * Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities * Ability to work independently with minimal supervision ## Preferred Qualifications * Licensed Architect is a strong plus * Engineering license or other professional construction/design credentials are a plus * Experience coordinating architects, engineers, contractors, consultants, and suppliers * Experience with hospitality, hotel, resort, glamping, or commercial development projects * Familiarity with AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, Bluebeam, Microsoft Project, Smartsheet, Notion, or similar software ## To Apply Please provide: 1.
