Freelance SketchUp & LayOut Design Assistant – Luxury Residential Interior Design Description: Established Interior Designer with over 25 years of experience seeking a talented freelance Design Assistant for ongoing project-based work. This is an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys collaborating on high-end residential interiors and is looking for a long-term working relationship. Projects include luxury custom homes, remodels, kitchens, baths, custom millwork, furniture layouts, and interior architectural detailing. Responsibilities: Create and update SketchUp models from field measurements, plans, and sketches Produce floor plans, elevations, sections, and 3D views Develop cabinetry and custom millwork drawings Prepare presentation drawings and client visuals Create drawing sets using SketchUp LayOut Incorporate revisions efficiently and accurately Maintain organized project files and project standards Required Skills: Advanced proficiency in SketchUp Pro Strong experience with LayOut Residential interior design experience Ability to interpret sketches, redlines, and design intent Understanding of cabinetry, millwork, kitchens, baths, and construction detailing Strong communication skills Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines Preferred Qualifications: Interior Design or Architecture background Experience with luxury residential projects Knowledge of materials, finishes, furnishings, and space planning Experience producing permit or construction drawing sets Project Details: Work is on an as-needed basis with the potential for ongoing collaboration Remote position Must be available for occasional video meetings and project coordination calls To Apply, Please Include: Portfolio of SketchUp and LayOut work Examples of cabinetry, millwork, kitchen, or bath drawings Your hourly rate Years of SketchUp and LayOut experience A brief description of your residential design experience One sample SketchUp model screenshot and one sample LayOut construction drawing set (PDF preferred) Please note: Applicants who do not provide examples of both SketchUp modeling and LayOut documentation will not be considered.
