Design Industrial Remote Access Hardware Box for Power Equipment Monitoring

Project Description We are looking for an experienced industrial automation / OT networking / panel design engineer to help us design a standard hardware box for secure remote access to power equipment monitoring devices. We already have our own software/platform. This project is hardware only. The hardware box shall connect to power equipment monitoring devices via Ethernet and provide secure online connectivity via 4G/5G SIM or customer WAN. The solution will be used for power transformers and other electrical power equipment, where we need to access monitoring equipment remotely from our office and/or send data to our own platform. System Concept Power equipment monitoring devices DGA monitor / RTU / PLC / temperature monitor / OLTC controller / protection relay ↓ Ethernet / Modbus TCP/IP Industrial remote access box ↓ 4G/5G SIM or customer WAN VPN / secure tunnel ↓ Our monitoring software / remote access system The box must not expose the power equipment monitoring device, web interface, or Modbus TCP directly to the public internet. Scope of Work We need the freelancer to deliver: 1. Recommended hardware BOM 2. Industrial router selection 3. 4G/5G or LTE router option 4. Customer WAN option 5. 24 VDC power supply selection 6. Antenna and cable recommendations 7. Ethernet wiring concept 8. DIN-rail enclosure / panel layout 9. Basic electrical wiring diagram 10. Firewall / VPN connection concept 11. IP addressing concept 12. Assembly documentation 13. FAT/SAT test checklist 14. Estimated hardware cost per unit Technical Requirements The hardware box shall support: Ethernet connection to power equipment monitoring devices Modbus TCP/IP access if required Web interface remote access if required 4G/5G SIM connection Optional WAN connection from customer network VPN or secure tunnel Firewall protection DIN-rail installation 24 VDC supply Industrial environment Simple FAT/SAT testing Cybersecurity Requirement Direct exposure of power equipment monitoring devices to the public internet is not allowed. The solution must use: VPN or secure tunnel Firewall Unique credentials per installation No open public Modbus port No open public web interface Read-only access as default where possible Customer/Nordic access separation if possible Deliverables Please quote for the following deliverables: 1. Complete hardware BOM with part numbers 2. Wiring diagram / electrical schematic 3. Network architecture drawing 4. IP/VPN/firewall concept 5. DIN-rail layout proposal 6. Installation guide 7. FAT/SAT test procedure 8. Estimated hardware cost per unit 9. Optional assembly instructions for panel builder
