UX/UI Designer - China Market Specialist (Mandarin) - 2-Week Pitch Sprint

About us We're a UAE-based digital agency working on a high-profile pitch for a major Middle East tourism destination. China is one of the destination's most important markets, and we're designing a set of screens tailored specifically to Chinese travelers. What we need A UX/UI designer who deeply understands the Chinese digital landscape - not just the language, but how Chinese users actually discover, plan, and book travel, and what delights them. You'll join a short brainstorming session with our team and then design a set of polished Figma screens for the China audience. A key strategic consideration: standard Western .com tourism sites are often inaccessible in mainland China, so we're especially interested in someone who can think in terms of local channels and ecosystems (WeChat, Mini Programs, Xiaohongshu/RED, Weibo, Ctrip, etc.) rather than defaulting to a Western web pattern. You should have - Fluent Mandarin + strong working English - Proven experience designing digital products for the mainland China market - Deep familiarity with Chinese UX conventions and user behavior/preferences - Working knowledge of China-specific platforms (WeChat/Mini Programs, Xiaohongshu, etc.) - Strong Figma skills and a portfolio to show it Nice to have - Tourism, hospitality, or travel-tech experience Details - Intensive two-week pitch engagement, starting next week - You'll work closely with our team day-to-day, daily syncs, fast iteration, high availability expected - Fixed-price for the full engagement (we'll align on exact scope together) - Kicks off with a live brainstorm; deliverables are a set of polished Figma screens for the China audience
