Designer/Product Developer: Refine Mechanical Wearable Device & Add Toggle Switch

Summary

Hi Folks! I am an entrepreneur based in Canada with a sportswear product idea. I've been developing a compact, completely mechanical wearable device (watch-style form factor) for the last few weeks, but I feel it needs to be updated (received 3D printed prototypes, at the early stages of this). The internal gear and ratchet logic is fully designed, for the most part, and locked in STEP format. I need a designer or product developer to review and refine the internals to ensure it 'works' and update a secondary 'toggle' feature, because the current form is lacking user functionality. I can't imagine this will be a huge ask or major project, likely a few hours at most. Scope of Work: Redesign Toggle: Replace a flush, weak sliding element with a more robust "light-switch style" toggle switch. This switch must stand up slightly to be easily flicked manually, while remaining securely seated in its internal track/rail guide. Clearance Optimization: Review the current internal tolerances between the moving actuator arms and internal components to introduce minor clearance adjustments (e.g., 0.15mm – 0.2mm) to ensure parts do not bind or collide. Review Internal Mechanism: Just want another set of skilled eyes on the design to ensure it is working properly, will not fail or break etc. (open to new ideas as well here, suggestions). Deliverables: Provide fully separated, individual production-ready STEP files for each component, along with a master assembly file. Keep in mind this will likely go for injection molding one day. Requirements: Proven experience in product design, consumer electronics enclosures, or mechanical wearables. High proficiency in SolidWorks, Fusion360, or standard CAD suites (ability to work with provided STEP/neutral files). Clear understanding of Design for Manufacturing (DFM) for plastic injection molding (wall thicknesses, snap-fits). Note: Selected freelancers will be asked to sign a standard Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) before the master CAD files are shared. *Include keywords 'Watch Puzzle' in your proposal (so I know you at least read this). Thanks!
