UI/UX Designer for Mobile App

Project overview We're building a mobile app (React Native / Expo) for securely organizing and managing documents. We're hiring a UI/UX designer to define the visual identity and design the core MVP screens in Figma, mobile-only. Scope: 1. Brand identity * Logo (app icon + wordmark/lockup); must work as an app store icon down to small sizes * Color palette, typography system, iconography style * Short style guide: core colors, type scale, spacing/grid basics, icon set direction 2. Screens (mobile) 1. Onboarding — first-run experience, value proposition, permissions requests (camera, notifications) 2. Authentication — sign up, log in, password/account recovery 3. Dashboard — home/landing screen after login 4. Documents — document list/browse, filtering, document detail (lifecycle: view, upload, replace/version, delete) 5. Tasks (Expiring Documents) — surfaces documents nearing expiry, action prompts 6. Search — search across documents, people, and institutions; empty-result and partial-match states 7. Contacts — people/parties associated with documents or sharing (define: family group members, share recipients, or both) 8. Notifications — in-app notification center (expiry alerts, share activity, security events) 9. User profile — account settings, security settings (sessions, MFA if applicable) 3. Required states per screen Each screen must include: default/populated state, empty state, loading state, and error state. Deliverables * Figma file with all screens above, organized by flow * Reusable component set within Figma (buttons, inputs, cards, nav) — lightweight, not a full documented design system * Exported logo files (SVG/PNG, multiple sizes) Out of scope for this engagement * Responsive/desktop web layouts * Formal design system documentation or dev-ready redlines/specs * Marketing site or App Store listing assets (beyond the exported logo) * Illustration/animation work beyond basic iconography Candidate requirements * Portfolio showing mobile app UI/UX work, ideally fintech, health, or security/privacy products * Experience designing for both branding (logo/identity) and product UI in one engagement
