UX Designer for Mobile Year-in-Review / Recap Redesign

About the Project We’re looking for a freelance UX designer to help improve and redesign the user experience for a personal year-in-review / recap product. The experience helps users capture meaningful moments throughout the year and then turns those moments into a beautiful, reflective recap they can revisit, share, and keep. This is a focused project with potential for ongoing work. We prefer a project-based engagement rather than hourly-only support. What We Need Help With We’re looking for someone who can help us think through, simplify, and improve the full recap experience, including: The year-in-review / recap user journey How users discover, access, and interact with their recap inside the product The flow from saved memories into a finished recap Mobile-first UX improvements Shareable recap concepts and interaction patterns Integration of the recap experience into the existing site/app Light product thinking around what should be shown, edited, skipped, saved, or shared The ideal person is comfortable working from an existing product and helping us make the experience clearer, more intuitive, and more emotionally engaging. Deliverables We’re flexible, but the ideal deliverable would include one or more of the following: Updated user flow for the year-in-review / recap experience Mobile-first wireframes Figma prototype Clickable prototype or lightweight “vibe-coded” user flow Suggested UX improvements for the current experience Notes on product gaps, friction points, and opportunities Ideal Experience We’re looking for someone with: 3–5+ years of UX/product design experience Strong mobile UX experience Experience designing consumer products, personal apps, family products, journaling, photo/memory, storytelling, or recap-style experiences Ability to simplify complex flows Comfort working with a small, agile team Strong Figma skills Bonus: ability to prototype interactions, create lightweight coded flows, or work with AI/no-code tools How We Work You’ll be working with a small, agile team based in California and Brazil. Some of us have worked together for years, so we value collaboration, clear communication, and practical design thinking over heavy process. We’re looking for someone who can jump in, understand the product quickly, ask good questions, and help us move from rough ideas to a better user experience. Budget Initial project budget: $1,000–$1,500, depending on scope and deliverables. There is potential for ongoing project work after the initial engagement. If hourly support is needed later, we are targeting approximately $25/hour, but we prefer to start with a clearly defined project scope.
