Designer for Product Images

Hi! We're Becca and Max, and we're launching The Peculiar Garden — an embroidered apparel brand starting with sweatshirts, shirts, hats, and tote bags. We are seeking a creative designer to join our team and help create engaging animal character images for our products. As fun-natured individuals, we value creativity and a playful approach to design. The ideal candidate will have experience in photo editing and graphic design, with a strong portfolio showcasing their skills. This is a part-time role with a long-term engagement, perfect for someone looking to contribute to a dynamic and innovative project. Specifically, we need four individual characters: - A frog - A mouse - A bunny - A goose Important: This is embroidery, not print We're producing through Printify, so all final artwork must be embroidery-ready per their guidelines: - Maximum 6 thread colors, solid colors only — no gradients, shading, or blends - All lines minimum 1.3 mm (0.05") thick at final embroidered size - No small negative space between elements (gaps fill in when stitched) - Bold, simple shapes that stay legible at left-chest scale (roughly 3.5–4" tall) - Final files at 300 DPI with transparent background, plus vector source files Full details here: https://help.printify.com/hc/en-us/articles/4483608843921-How-do-I-prepare-my-design-for-embroidery Experience designing for embroidery is a big plus — but if you haven't done embroidery specifically, a strong feel for bold, simplified character work counts for a lot too. Either way, tell us how you'd approach these constraints. Deliverables - 3 concepts - Mockup - Final files: PNG, JPG, PSD, and AI These characters will be the face of everything we make, so we're taking our time to find the right person.
