Designer for a playing cards game
Worldwide
We're building Vault Run, a social-deduction push-your-luck card game about a crew of masked robbers cracking a bank vault — where some players are secretly undercover cops trying to make the heist fail. Think Saboteur meets Flip 7 with a playful heist-caper tone. We have the full game design, rules, and card list finished. We now need a talented illustrator/card designer to bring it to life visually for a print-and-play release (with possible retail print run to follow). Our brand mascot is a masked raccoon bandit, and the visual tone is cartoonish and fun, not gritty — a lighthearted caper, closer to Looney Tunes than Heat. Core palette is heist green and gold, with alarm red and steel blue as accents. What we need Card face templates for 4 card types (cash/loot, heat, tools, roles) — a clean, consistent layout system with clear iconography. Card back design (single shared back, since cards are played face-down). Roughly 6–10 spot illustrations in a consistent style: the raccoon mascot (a few poses/expressions), tool icons (lockpick, smoke bomb, crowbar, getaway car, wire cutters, inside tip), and role art. Box / logo lockup using our existing wordmark direction. Final files print-ready (CMYK, bleed, 300 DPI) and laid out for standard poker-size cards (2.5" × 3.5"). What we'll provide Complete rulebook and full card list with all text and quantities. Brand brief: mascot concept, palette (hex values), tone, and tagline. Reference mockups of our current draft cards and an initial raccoon mascot concept. Ideal candidate Portfolio showing tabletop / card game work (please highlight relevant pieces). Strong character illustration with a clean, appealing cartoon style. Experience preparing print-ready files for card manufacturers (e.g. The Game Crafter, MakePlayingCards, or a traditional printer). Bonus: experience with card-game layout systems and iconography, not just one-off illustrations. To apply, please include A link to your portfolio, with 2–3 specific pieces most relevant to this style. A one-line note on your experience with print-ready card files. Your estimated timeline and fixed-price quote for the scope above (or your hourly rate if you'd prefer to scope it together). Optional but appreciated: a quick sentence on how you'd approach our raccoon mascot — we love collaborators with a point of view. We're excited to work with someone who's enthusiastic about games and can help us make Vault Run look as fun as it plays. Looking forward to seeing your work!
