DevOps Engineer (Automation | CI/CD)

Location: San Jose, CA (Onsite) DevOps Engineer (Automation | CI/CD) Job Description We are seeking a highly skilled DevOps Engineer with 5 to 10 years of hands‐on experience in automation, CI/CD, Nutanix DevOps tooling, and software configuration management. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in build infrastructure stability, debugging test failures, supporting development teams, and maintaining high‐quality release pipelines across complex multi‐repository environments. Key Responsibilities Required Skills & Experience 5+ years of experience in Build & Release Engineering, DevOps, or Software Configuration Management. Strong hands‐on experience with Jenkins, Git, GitHub, Gerrit, and CI/CD pipelines. Experience supporting Nutanix DevOps tools, clusters, nodes, and pools. Monitoring, Debugging of Functional Tests, Unit Tests and Nucloud jobs in NuGerrit, Jenkins Build Runs Proficiency in debugging Python, C, and C++ build/test failures. Strong troubleshooting skills across build, deployment, infrastructure, and network layers. Experience with monitoring tools such as Grafana. Provide 24x7 monitoring of CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, QP) to ensure continuous availability. Detect, triage, and assign up to 2 L1 incidents per hour. Manage up to 10 open incidents simultaneously, providing hourly updates. Familiarity with SRE concepts such as SLIs, SLOs, and error budgets Track and report on key reliability metrics including: MTTA MTTR MTBF MTTC Incident count & severity Pipeline health & uptime Excellent analytical, problem‐solving, and communication skills. Ability to work in fast‐paced, cross‐functional environments and meet tight deadlines. Preferred Qualifications Experience supporting large‐scale DevOps environments (Nutanix experience is a plus). Familiarity with distributed systems, virtualization, or hyperconverged infrastructure. Strong understanding of DevOps best practices and release governance. Ability to mentor junior engineers and improve team processes.
