Developer for Google Ads SMS Conversion Tracking

Summary

We have a landing page with a "Text Now" button. Current setup: The button opens the visitor's native SMS app. I understand I can track button clicks with GTM. I am NOT looking for button-click tracking. What I want to know: Can we modify the current setup so a Google Ads conversion fires ONLY after an SMS is actually sent? I'm looking for a developer who can: Review the current implementation. Determine the simplest way to track actual SMS sends. Implement the solution if feasible. Connect it to Google Ads as a secondary conversion action. Requirements: Experience with web development. Experience with Google Ads conversion tracking. Familiarity with SMS integrations (Twilio or similar is fine). Ability to work with an existing GitHub repository. Please answer the following: How would you solve this? Would you keep the current SMS flow or replace it? Roughly how many hours would this take? Have you implemented something similar before? Looking for the simplest and most reliable solution.
