Developmental editor/writer of Children's books (Age 8-12)

Hi, we are developing a series of interactive e-books for children (target age: 8–12) that blend fictional storytelling with non-fiction knowledge. We can start with one book first. We currently have around 30 books planned for the upcoming month, it would be an ongoing collaboration if everything goes well. We already have the character profiles, story outlines, initial drafts of the narration and dialogues, as well as illustrations and visual references. Each book is about 500-2000 words. We could pay by hour or by piece (Negotiable) . **Expectations:** We would like to keep the original story concept, world-building, main characters, and core storyline unchanged. Based on that, we hope you can help us further develop the story and polish the writing to make it more engaging, natural and suitable for our target readers (ages 8–12 native English speakers). You are welcome to rewrite, add, remove, or adjust parts where necessary to improve the overall reading experience, including: * Story structure, flow, and pacing * Connection between the text and illustrations * Dialogue and narration quality (Clear and concise) * Humour, tension, and reader engagement * Age-appropriate language and natural expressions for children (8–12) * Fact-checking or suggestions to improve the accuracy of educational content (a bonus) What we’re looking for is not just proofreading or grammar correction, but someone who can help us enhance the overall storytelling of the book.
