Summary

We are looking for an experienced Engineer in the field of Manufacturing and Mechanical Design. The main target is to reduce the material cost of an existing product actively being manufactured in our factories by optimizing and redesigning several of its components. The product is a Diesel Generator Enclosure (Genset for short). Initially, you would have to convert the existing 2D models into 3D models, then apply the relevant analysis and analytical tools to suggest and implement several improvements into the core design. Scope of work: • Convert existing 2D models into 3D CAD models. • Perform detailed Structural Analysis on various components of the product, including: o Chassis o Walls o Rooftops o Genset Mounts o Chequered plates o Lifting Lugs o Doors • Identify opportunities to reduce usage of steel/materials and weight. (Especially for the Chassis part) • Confirm if steel grade being used (A-36) is the most suitable for the use case. • Confirm the appropriate thickness for rooftop and walls and provide an installation procedure for the rooftop (currently being welded). With any relevant design changes/suggestions. • Provide a welding procedure for the chequered plate onto the chassis of the enclosure and an installation procedure for the Genset onto the chequered plate when installing the Genset inside the enclosure. • Lifting lugs location, design, weight distribution, and the appropriate lifting procedures. • Access doors redesign with appropriate accessories. • Calculations of: o Thermal Calculations o Ventilation Calculations o Vibration Calculations o CFD o Acoustic Calculations (Sample attached) • Complete design of lighting fixtures in the enclosures with necessary data sheets/calculations. • Complete design of Fire alarm fixtures with necessary data sheets/calculations. • Auxiliary panel design and recommendations. • Detailed design of inlet and exhaust louvers, including fabrication and assembly method procedures (Weld, Revit, etc.). • Shop drawings for the above enclosure sample. • Detailed BOQ and material list for the above enclosure sample. As stated above, the main target is to reduce the cost of the product through revisiting the core design and manufacturing procedures being applied at various stages.
