Digital Marketing VA — Travel Creator | Shopify, Email Marketing & Meta Ads Contract type: Part-time, ongoing Hours: 5–15 hrs/week Rate: $12–$35/hr depending on experience Location: Remote — any timezone (async-first) About me I'm a full-time travel and nature content creator based in Australia, with 360K followers on Instagram and 200K on Facebook. My work focuses on ocean life, wildlife, and landscape photography built over years of getting up before dawn and chasing light across the country. I'm launching three digital product lines through my Shopify store: Lightroom preset packs, photography eBooks, and fine art prints. I also host group photography workshops. For the next several months I'll be on the road, which means I need someone reliable to keep the engine running behind the scenes while I'm off creating content. This is not a content creation role. I create all my own content and post it myself. What I need is someone who understands digital marketing, email funnels, Shopify and Meta Ads — and who can execute a clear strategy independently. What you'll be doing Email marketing (Mailchimp) - Main Role Managing and growing our email list (lead magnet opt-in flow) Creating a automated 5-email welcome sequence (open rates, click rates, delivery) Drafting weekly broadcast emails for my review — I approve, you schedule Building email templates Conceptualising email marketing ideas to help boost sales Developing strategies to help grow the email list Reporting on email performance weekly to help work out how we can improve week-on-week Meta Ads (Facebook & Instagram) Setting up retargeting campaigns to warm audiences (existing followers + website visitors) Daily monitoring of ad spend, ROAS, and CTR — pausing underperformers Writing 2–3 short ad copy variations per product for my approval Weekly ad performance reporting Shopify store support Monitoring orders and flagging any issues Keeping product listings current (descriptions, links, prices) Adding customer reviews/testimonials to product pages Tracking store revenue, traffic, and conversion rate Updating store with products new products Reporting A short weekly performance report every Monday covering: revenue, email stats, ad spend, and subscriber growth Flagging anything unusual or off-track promptly — I'd rather hear early than late Admin Assisting with email organisation Building systems and documenting these in process notes Helping with incorporating AI into our tasks Helping streamline tasks Other ad hoc activities as required Who I'm looking for You are the right person if you: Have at least 1–2 years of hands-on experience running Meta ad campaigns (not just boosting posts) Have worked with Mailchimp Have experience with Shopify (not just browsing — you've been inside the backend) Are comfortable working async with minimal supervision — you read a brief, you execute, you report Have worked with a creative brand or content creator before (you understand that the voice matters) Are organised, reliable, and flag problems early rather than hoping they resolve themselves Can write clean, concise English — you'll be drafting emails and ad copy in my voice What this is NOT This is not a social media management role — I post everything myself This is not a content creation or video editing role This is not a high-volume, fast-paced agency environment — it's calm, structured, and async To apply, please include: A short intro (3–5 sentences) — tell me who you are and why this role fits you One example of a Meta ad campaign you ran for a creative or lifestyle brand — what was the objective, what did you test, what was the result?
