Digital Marketing & User Growth Expert for Mobile App

We are looking for an experienced Digital Marketing and Growth Expert to help us grow a consumer mobile app available on both iOS and Android. The app helps people discover historical photographs connected to real-world locations, compare past and present views, explore places through history, and contribute their own photos and stories. Our apps are already live and ready for users. The main goal is to build awareness, increase app downloads, attract active users, and create a strong community around the product. ## What We Need We need someone who can create and execute a practical marketing strategy focused on user acquisition and long-term growth. This is not only a social media posting role. We are looking for a growth-focused marketer who can identify the best channels, test campaigns, analyze results, and continuously improve performance. You should be comfortable combining social media, paid advertising, App Store Optimization, influencer outreach, content marketing, community growth, partnerships, and AI-based marketing tools. ## Target Audiences Potential audiences may include: * Travelers and people who enjoy discovering new places * History, culture, architecture, and photography enthusiasts * Local communities and heritage organizations * Urban explorers and location-based content creators * People interested in “then versus now” content * Users who have old family, local, or historical photos they may want to share ## Responsibilities * Create a clear 90-day digital marketing and user-growth strategy. * Identify the best channels to acquire users efficiently. * Build and manage social media campaigns for TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, Reddit, and other relevant platforms. * Create content ideas that can become highly shareable, especially “then versus now” comparisons, historical stories, local discoveries, and visual location-based content. * Use AI marketing tools for research, content creation, campaign optimization, automation, and reporting. * Plan and manage paid user-acquisition campaigns through channels such as Meta Ads, TikTok Ads, Google App Campaigns, Apple Search Ads, or other relevant platforms. * Improve App Store Optimization for both the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. * Research and contact relevant influencers, travel creators, history creators, photography accounts, local community groups, and heritage organizations. * Suggest referral campaigns, ambassador programs, giveaways, partnerships, and user-generated-content strategies. * Track key metrics such as app installs, cost per install, activation, engagement, retention, and campaign performance. * Provide regular reports and practical recommendations based on results. ## Required Experience * Proven experience growing mobile apps, consumer platforms, marketplaces, travel products, local discovery apps, social products, or content-based platforms. * Strong experience with social media growth and content strategy. * Experience running paid user-acquisition campaigns for mobile apps. * Experience with App Store Optimization for iOS and Android. * Experience with analytics tools such as Firebase, Google Analytics, AppsFlyer, Adjust, Mixpanel, Amplitude, or similar platforms. * Experience using AI tools for marketing research, campaign planning, content generation, ad optimization, or reporting. * Strong communication skills and the ability to explain strategy, priorities, results, and next actions clearly. * Ability to work independently and make practical recommendations based on a realistic budget. ## Nice to Have * Experience in travel, history, culture, photography, maps, tourism, local discovery, or community-driven products. * Experience with influencer marketing and user-generated-content campaigns. * Experience growing an early-stage mobile app or startup. * Experience building referral, ambassador, or community-led growth programs. * Familiarity with SEO, landing-page optimization, and email marketing. ## Expected Deliverables During the first phase, we expect: 1. A detailed 90-day growth and marketing plan. 2. Recommended target audiences, countries, and acquisition channels. 3. A prioritized strategy showing which channels to start with and why. 4. A social media content plan with post ideas, short-video concepts, and campaign examples. 5. A paid advertising test plan, including suggested budget allocation. 6. App Store Optimization recommendations for both iOS and Android. 7. Influencer, partnership, and community-outreach ideas. 8. A simple reporting dashboard or recurring performance report with clear KPIs. 9.
