We're a performance marketing company running significant paid spend across Meta, TikTok, Snapchat, and YouTube. We're hiring a creative strategist/copywriter whose job is simple to describe and hard to do: find out what's converting in the market right now, understand why, and turn that intelligence into video scripts our team can produce and scale. You'll sit at the center of our creative engine — between research, our video editors, and our media buyers. Your scripts get real budget behind them, and you'll see performance data on everything you write. What you'll do: Research & competitive intelligence (this is the foundation of the role): Live in spy tools and ad libraries daily — track competitor creatives, identify winning angles before they saturate, and document what's scaling in our verticals Deep customer research: reviews, Reddit, forums, comment sections — extract the actual language, objections, and emotional drivers of the target audience Map offers against awareness and sophistication levels to find untapped angles Maintain an organized swipe file / angle database the whole team can pull from Scriptwriting (your core output): Write video ad scripts that convert cold traffic — UGC-style, talking-head, testimonial, problem/agitate/solve, native-feel formats for TikTok, Meta, and YouTube Engineer the first 3 seconds — hooks are the job; the script exists to keep the viewer past them Write hook variations at volume so winning concepts can be iterated, not just launched once Write supporting copy: primary text, headlines, and advertorials/pre-sells when needed Team collaboration (you won't work in a vacuum): Brief video editors with clear storyboards, shot direction, pacing notes, and reference examples — your script quality is measured by what the editor can actually produce from it Work directly with media buyers: review creative metrics (hook rate, hold rate, CTR, CPA), understand why creatives win or die, and feed that back into the next batch Participate in a fast iteration loop — kill losers quickly, break down winners into new variations, keep the creative pipeline full Requirements: 2+ years writing direct response creative specifically for paid traffic (affiliate, CPA, or DTC offers) Proven track record — you'll be asked to show scripts/ads you wrote and the performance behind them Demonstrated research process — be ready to walk us through exactly how you find and validate angles, not just "I check the ad library sometimes" Fluency with spy tools (Foreplay, Atria, Minea, Meta Ad Library, TikTok Creative Center, etc.) Strong grasp of DR fundamentals — awareness stages, sophistication, emotional drivers (Schwartz, Halbert, Sugarman should be familiar names) Experience writing short-form video scripts that were actually produced and run — not just spec work You understand paid traffic economics: a script that gets views but doesn't convert to CPA targets is a failure Organized and proactive — you can run a creative research and briefing process without being micromanaged Nice to have: Experience in health, wellness, or telehealth (or other compliance-heavy verticals — you know how to write aggressive angles that stay inside platform policy) Experience briefing and managing output from video editors Comfort using AI tools to scale research and script volume without losing quality To apply: Start your proposal with the word "ANGLE" so we know you read this.
