**Job Title:** Direct-Response Copywriter for DTC Video Ads | Long-Term Opportunity **Job Description:** I’m a fractional creative strategist working with multiple DTC and e-commerce brands, primarily in health, wellness, supplements, consumer products and other performance-focused categories. My strength is creative strategy. I handle the customer research, identify angles, analyze winning ads, build testing roadmaps and decide what concepts each brand should test next. I’m looking for a reliable direct-response copywriter who can become my long-term copywriting partner and help turn those ideas into strong, conversion-focused scripts. This is not a role where you will be expected to come up with every strategy from scratch. I will usually provide you with the angle, concept, audience, research, product information, desired belief shift and creative direction. Your job is to take that strategy and turn it into copy that feels natural, persuasive and ready to perform. ## What You’ll Be Writing The majority of the work will be direct-response video ad scripts for Meta and other paid social platforms. Most scripts will be between 30 seconds and three minutes long. You may occasionally write: * UGC-style video scripts * Founder or spokesperson scripts * Podcast-style ads * Advertorial-style concepts * Voiceover and B-roll scripts * Hooks and alternative leads * Static ad copy * Iterations of winning ads * Short landing-page or advertorial copy Very rarely, we may need a longer VSL. However, this role is mainly focused on ads that are three minutes or shorter. ## What I Need From You I need someone who understands direct response and can write copy that moves people toward taking action. You should be able to: * Turn a strategic concept into a complete script * Write strong hooks without relying on cheap clickbait * Understand customer pain points, desires, objections and beliefs * Absorb the research and strategy I provide * Conduct additional research when necessary * Write in different voices for different brands and customer avatars * Make scripts sound natural when spoken out loud * Move quickly without sacrificing quality * Handle feedback and revisions professionally * Write multiple variations without making every variation feel identical Most importantly, I am not looking for someone who simply feeds a prompt into an AI tool and delivers the first output. You can use AI as part of your process, but the final copy must feel intentionally written, researched and human. I do not want generic AI phrasing, repetitive sentence structures, fake urgency or scripts that sound like a copywriter trying too hard to sell. You should understand when to simplify the language, when to increase emotion and when to let the idea speak for itself. ## How We’ll Work Together I will generally provide: * The product and offer * Customer research * The audience or avatar * The angle * The concept * The desired belief shift * Inspiration or winning-ad references * Claims and compliance limitations * The creative format * Any important client feedback You will turn that information into polished hooks and scripts. I will remain responsible for the overall creative strategy, testing direction, client communication and final approval. I am looking for someone who complements that work by owning the writing execution. You should be comfortable working across multiple client accounts while keeping each brand’s voice, customer and offer distinct. ## Initial Project Structure I want to begin with one-off paid projects so I can evaluate: * The quality of your writing * How well you follow strategic direction * How much editing your drafts require * How quickly you can deliver * How you respond to feedback * Whether your scripts sound natural when spoken * Whether your work actually saves me time There should be consistent one-off work available for the right person. A typical project may include: * 3 hooks * 1 body * Revisions (if needed) Please include your rate for this type of project. ## Long-Term Opportunity This is not intended to remain a series of random one-off projects forever. As the workload and number of clients increase, I would prefer to move the right person onto a consistent monthly retainer. The initial retainer would likely be around **$2,000–$3,000 per month**, depending on your experience, quality, speed and the amount of work you can handle. There is room for that compensation to increase as I sign more clients and you take on more responsibility. The ideal outcome is that you become my dedicated long-term copywriting partner across my client accounts. ## You’re Probably a Strong Fit If * You have experience writing direct-response copy for DTC brands * You understand performance marketing and paid social creative * You have written scripts for Meta ads * You understand awareness levels, angles, mechanisms and belief shifts * You can write persuasive copy without making it sound forced * You are comfortable receiving a detailed strategy and executing from it * You are responsive, dependable and interested in consistent long-term work * You care about the quality of the final output rather than only completing the task Experience with supplements, wellness, beauty, food and beverage, consumer products or other DTC categories is a plus. ## Please Include in Your Application 1.
