Direct Response Short Form Video Editor
Worldwide
Direct Response Video Editor (Short-Form / Facebook Ads) Remote About the role We run paid Facebook and Instagram ads that have to do one thing: sell. Not win awards, not look pretty, but sell. We're looking for a video editor who lives and breathes direct response short-form ads and knows how to use AI tools to move faster and get wilder without dropping quality. Here's the key thing about this role: you're not starting from scratch. We already have winning scripts and proven raw talking-head footage of our spokesperson. Your job is to take what's already working and turn it into a ton of fresh variations, some built off the existing footage, some built brand new with AI off nothing but the script. This is a volume-and-variation game. The first 3 seconds decide whether we make money or burn budget. If you've got real experience making high-converting performance ads, this role is for you. You have to be plugged into what's working right now. The formats that crush on TikTok and the styles our competitors are running change constantly. We want someone who's actively watching that stuff - swiping trends, spotting the editing styles that are popping off this week - and pulling those ideas into our ads while they're still hot. If your reference points are from a year ago, this won't work. What you'll actually be doing You'll be handed a proven script plus raw talking-head footage of our spokesperson. From there, you'll produce as many strong, different-feeling ad variations as possible working in two directions: 1. Recut the existing spokesperson footage into new formats Reframe the talking head, shrink him into a corner while relevant b-roll plays over the top, split-screen him against something eye-catching, cut back and forth between him and other footage, etc. Green screen / composite styles drop him into new backgrounds or scenes that fit the message Top/bottom split formats spokesperson on the bottom half, something wild but relevant playing up top to stop the scroll 2. Build brand new versions from just the script (spokesperson footage never used) AI avatar reads a fresh AI presenter delivering the proven script AI voice over b-roll AI voiceover of the script paired with strong, relevant b-roll, no on-camera presenter at all Any other AI-driven build where the script is the only thing carried over Across both directions, you'll also be cutting multiple hooks and intros off the same core ad so we can test what wins, and chasing what's trending taking formats and editing styles that are working right now on Meta and adapting our proven scripts into them. The goal: tons of variations, all loosely based on proven winners, so we can throw a lot at the wall and scale what sticks. Fast turnarounds and constant iteration when a variation wins, we squeeze it for everything it's got. Who you are: You have real, provable experience editing direct response / performance marketing short-form ads not YouTube intros, not wedding videos, not corporate content You've edited ads that actually ran on Meta and drove results, and you can show them You understand DR fundamentals: strong hooks, pattern interrupts, retention, pacing, on-screen text/captions, subtitles, and CTAs that convert You can take a single script or piece of footage and make it feel like ten totally different ads You're genuinely good with AI editing and generation tools (e.g. CapCut AI, Descript, ElevenLabs, HeyGen/AI avatars, Runway, Topaz, AI captioning/reframing, etc.) both to work faster and to build full ads from just a script You keep a pulse on what's trending on Meta and can adapt our proven scripts into those styles You're fast, reliable, and communicate clearly in English You take direction, hit deadlines, and don't need to be chased How to apply Please send: 1. Your reel or 3-5 direct response ads you've edited specifically ones that ran on Facebook/Instagram and drove results. Show us your best hooks. 2. Examples of range if you have them, show me a few different edits built off the same or similar source footage, plus any fully AI-built ads (AI avatar or AI voice + b-roll) you've made. 3. A short note (a few sentences) on which AI tools you use and how they've made your editing faster or let you build ads you couldn't otherwise shoot. 4. Your rate (per ad or hourly) and your typical turnaround time for a batch of ad variations. Applications without real DR ad samples won't be considered.
