Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations Developer Needed – Secure Tool to Complete Stuck Warehouse Work

Title: Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations Developer Needed – Secure Tool to Complete Stuck Warehouse Work Job post text: We are looking for an experienced Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations (D365FO) developer to design and implement a safe, auditable solution for completing stuck warehouse work that cannot be completed through the standard process. Background: We have cases where a Work record cannot be completed normally because the related order has already been completed/closed, and attempting to complete the work results in an error related to over delivery percentage for specific items in a specific work/order. Example of the error message: "The line has quantity 2.00, and total delivery of 3.00. This results in 50.00 percent overdelivery of the line. The line only allows overdelivery of 0.00 percent. You can adjust this value on the order line. Update has been canceled" This issue is not limited to updating the work header status only. We need a proper solution that handles the actual stuck work lines and ensures the related inventory status is updated correctly for the item/unit currently involved in the work. What we need: We need a developer who can: -Propose a secure and efficient solution -Build either: a form/page inside D365FO, or another controlled admin tool/process -Include logging/audit tracking for any action performed -Ensure the solution completes: the stuck Work the relevant Work lines the related inventory status correctly -Avoid affecting unrelated inventory units/items Existing idea to review: We already have a possible approach in mind: Update the over delivery to 100% for a specific sales order / work-related line and specific item Use a SQL script and/or a direct class-based update to update the over delivery of a specific sales order line However, we are not committed to this solution. We need an expert to: review this approach, explain its advantages and disadvantages, and recommend whether it is safe and appropriate. We are open to better alternatives as long as they meet the business requirement safely. Required skills: -Strong experience in D365FO -Strong X++ development experience -Understanding of warehouse management / work / inventory transactions -Experience with safe data correction tools -Ability to explain technical risk clearly Deliverables: -Recommended solution with pros/cons -Implemented solution -Logging/audit capability -Clear handover/documentation for admin use -Testing steps and impact notes Important note: We are specifically looking for a solution that is safe, controlled, and production-conscious. We do not want a risky quick fix without proper review.
