Summary

I am a Division 1 university golf coach building a custom force measurement device for use with college athletes. I need one prototype unit built, calibrated, tested, and documented. The device is a vertical pole with a load cell mounted at adjustable height positions, connected to an ESP32 microcontroller that streams force data via Bluetooth to an iPad. Conceptually similar to a Hawkins Dynamics Dynamo or cable-based force plate — but repositionable along a pole to test force at different positions in a golf swing. **This is a precision measurement instrument, not a hobby project.** It will be used with D1 athletes in a professional setting. Accuracy, reliability, and clean construction are the priority. **Core components:** - 80/20 aluminum T-slot extrusion pole (6 feet, breaks into two sections for transport) - S-beam load cell, 500kg capacity - HX711 amplifier at 80Hz sample rate - ESP32 microcontroller with BLE GATT server - Golf grip handle + D-handle (swappable) - Rechargeable LiPo battery (8 hour runtime) - 3D printed or machined electronics enclosure mounted to pole - Weighted plate-loadable base (folds flat for transport) - Pelican case with foam insert **The full hardware spec is attached.** Read it completely before submitting a proposal. It includes exact component specs, firmware requirements, BLE protocol, calibration procedure, acceptance tests, and documentation requirements. **In your proposal, answer these specifically:** 1. Have you worked with load cells and HX711 before? Describe the project. 2. Have you implemented a BLE GATT server on ESP32? Arduino or ESP-IDF? 3. How do you plan to handle the enclosure — 3D print, machined, or off-the-shelf? 4. What is your proposed approach for the base? Proposals that do not answer these four questions will not be considered. .Note: there is a companion software project happening in parallel. You will need to provide the BLE GATT service specification (service UUID, characteristic UUIDs, data format) to the software developer early in the build. This is a required deliverable documented in the spec. If you have photos or links to past builds involving load cells, ESP32 Bluetooth, or custom sports performance hardware — include them. That is the most useful thing you can show me.
