Worldwide
I am a freelance game developer with a long history working with Upwork freelancers. You can check my profile details on the job post and notice I have several years working with upwork and have spent over $8000 USD hiring freelancers on this platform, also my star score is 4.99 out of 5. So you can rest assured that this is a serious job offer. READ CAREFULLY THE FULL JOB POST SO YOU KNOW WHAT THE JOB IS ABOUT I'm looking for several freelancers for a long term project, the goal is to create lots of modular semi chibi characters for videogames. All models will be made using the same base model. The task is the following: I will give you a full anime style 3D model, you will take this model and create a toy like simplified version of it using a low poly character base I will also provide you with. Additional details: - I will always provide you the anime model and the base model. - You will always use the same base model I provide. - You are free to add additional bones to the model, but you should never remove any of the original bones or change their names. - You are free to use parts of the anime models as you see fit in order to speed up your work. - You will not use textures to paint the model, instead you will use flat colors and geometry for the details. - The resulting models all should have a plastic toy aesthetic, meaning most parts should be weightpainted to a specific bone on the base character armature. Only very few details such as the hands, hair, skirts etc should require additional weightpainting for proper mesh deformation. - I will provide you with a model that has blendshapes on the head, basically a bunch of emotes, you should not remove the blendshapes under any circumstance. - The characters should only have two meshes Head and Body associated to the rig. I will pay $5 USD per model, this is not negotiable, if you are efficient this should be a simple task due to the following: - There is no need to create textures because you will be using flat colors and geometry. - You can use parts of the original models I provide to facilitate your work. - I will provide you with an already rigged low poly base model and you will always be working with the same base model. - Weightpainting should be a breeze because the resulting toy characters limbs should be segmented and most weights should be painted to their corresponding bone. Only very few details such as the hands, hair, skirts etc should require additional weightpainting for proper mesh deformation. We will always be using the same base models to work, meaning you will never have to make anything from scratch. I have attached an image example with some example anime character models I would provide you and some concept art that closely resembles the toy like figure I would like you to create. Additional note: This is 100% optional but if you wanna demonstrate your skills doing a test model free of charge I don't mind.
