Elementary Curriculum Reviewer / Educational Consultant (K–4 Homeschool Curriculum)

Project Scope This is expected to be a one-time project requiring approximately 10–15 hours. The primary focus of the review will be: 1. Our 36-Week Curriculum Review our elementary curriculum for overall educational quality, grade-level appropriateness, scope and sequence, skill progression, prerequisite skills, gaps, unnecessary repetition, and difficulty progression. We are primarily looking for a curriculum-level audit rather than a line-by-line proofread of every individual activity or worksheet. 2. Our Skills / Placement Evaluation Review the skills we use to help parents evaluate their child’s current learning level. Determine whether the skills being evaluated are appropriate for each grade/subject, whether important skills are missing or misplaced, whether individual skills are clear enough for parents to reasonably evaluate, and whether the overall progression makes educational sense. Our Placement Evaluation is intentionally parent-guided rather than a child-administered standardized test. Parents evaluate skills they have observed their child demonstrate. The reviewer should assess the quality of this system within that parent-led model rather than redesigning it as a traditional standardized assessment. 3. Representative Supporting Materials We may ask the reviewer to look at a limited sample of worksheets or parent instructional materials where helpful for understanding how the curriculum objectives translate into actual learning materials. A comprehensive review of every worksheet is not included in this project’s scope. Final Deliverable We would like a written review identifying: * Overall assessment of each grade reviewed * Areas that are educationally strong * Important curriculum gaps * Skills that may be misplaced by grade * Scope/sequence concerns * Difficulty/progression concerns * Placement Evaluation concerns * Specific recommended revisions * Priority level of recommendations (Critical / Recommended / Optional) We are not looking for validation or a simple score. We specifically want an experienced educator to challenge our curriculum where appropriate and provide actionable recommendations. You will not be expected to implement any revisions, upon receiving the deliverable we will review internally and adjust on our own. Possible additional jobs in the future related to our program and other resources such as our Teach-It’s or individual worksheet analysis.
