Email Marketing Specialist for DTC Brand
Worldwide
**About Us** We're a DTC supplement brand selling through Shopify with Meta Ads as our primary acquisition channel. We're scaling and we need someone who can turn our email marketing into a serious revenue channel — not just a newsletter, but a full retention machine that drives lifetime value, repeat purchases, and subscriptions. We use Klaviyo. We need someone who lives in Klaviyo. **The Role** You own email. The flows, the campaigns, the segments, the copy, the design, the testing, the data. This isn't a role where we tell you what to send — we need someone who builds the strategy, executes it, and reports on what's working. You'll work closely with our Creative Strategist on visual direction, but the email domain is yours. Our goal is simple: email should drive 30%+ of total revenue. If you've done that before, we want to talk. **What You'll Do** → Build, optimise, and manage all Klaviyo email flows from scratch — welcome series, abandoned cart, abandoned browse, post-purchase, win-back, sunset, VIP, replenishment, subscription nudge, review request → Write high-converting email copy — direct response style, not corporate newsletter. You understand pain points, urgency, social proof, and how to make someone click "buy" from an email → Design or direct the design of all email templates — clean, on-brand, mobile-first. If you can design in Klaviyo or Canva yourself, even better. If not, you brief our designer with precision → Plan and execute weekly/bi-weekly campaign sends — promotions, content, education, launches, seasonal → Build and maintain smart segmentation — by purchase behavior, engagement level, product interest, lifecycle stage, subscription status. No batch-and-blast → A/B test everything — subject lines, send times, copy, design, offers, flow timing. You test with structure, not gut feeling → Monitor deliverability — inbox placement, spam rates, list hygiene, domain reputation. You keep us out of the promotions tab → Analyze and report on email performance — revenue attribution, flow performance, campaign ROI, list growth, churn. Weekly report to the founders → Focus on LTV and subscriptions — our biggest lever is turning first-time buyers into subscribers. Your flows and campaigns should be engineered to drive recurring revenue → Build a replenishment strategy — supplements run out. You know when. You email at the right time with the right message → Coordinate with our Creative Strategist to ensure email creative is congruent with ads and landing pages **What You Won't Do** → Run ads — separate team → Build landing pages — separate workflow → Customer support — separate team → Guess — everything you do is backed by data or a structured test **What We're Looking For** → Deep Klaviyo expertise — you've built flows from scratch, not just tweaked templates. You know the platform inside out: flow filters, conditional splits, dynamic content, custom properties, API events → DTC e-commerce email experience — ideally supplements, beauty, wellness, or health. You understand the buying psychology in this space → Direct response copywriting skills — your emails read like a good sales page, not a corporate memo. You write hooks, you build urgency, you close → Data-driven — you can pull a Klaviyo report and tell us exactly where the revenue is leaking and what to fix → Experience with subscription models — you've worked with brands that sell subscriptions or replenishment products and you know how to use email to drive and retain subscribers → Experience building segments that actually drive results — not just "engaged vs. unengaged" but sophisticated behavioral segments that change how you communicate → Deliverability knowledge — you understand SPF, DKIM, DMARC, warm-up schedules, list cleaning, and why engagement-based sending matters **How You Work (This Matters as Much as Your Skills)** → You build systems, not just emails. Your flow architecture, your testing calendar, your segmentation logic, your reporting cadence — all of it is documented and repeatable → You create SOPs for everything you build. If you set up a flow, there's a document that explains the logic, the triggers, the timing, and the reason behind every decision → You organise your work so that someone could take over your email program and understand exactly what's running, why, and what's next → You take full ownership — you don't wait for us to tell you what to send. You look at the data, see the opportunity, propose the test, and execute → You report proactively — every week we know what's performing, what's underperforming, and what you're doing about it → You think about email as part of the full customer journey, not an isolated channel. How does the email experience connect to the ad they clicked, the landing page they saw, and the product they received? **What Success Looks Like** → Email revenue grows from current levels to 30%+ of total revenue within 90 days → All core flows are live, tested, and optimised within 30 days → Subscription conversion rate from email increases measurably within 60 days → Weekly reporting cadence established and maintained → Full SOP documentation for every flow and process within 60 days → List health metrics stay strong: deliverability above 95%, unsubscribe rate below 0.3% **Screening Questions — Answer These in Your Proposal** 1. Share a Klaviyo flow you built from scratch. Walk us through the logic: what triggers it, how many emails, what are the conditional splits, and what results did it drive? 2. A DTC supplement brand has a 12% repeat purchase rate and no subscription program yet. How would you use email to increase that? Be specific about which flows and campaigns you'd build. 3. What's your process for writing a high-converting email? Walk us through from blank page to final send — including how you decide on the angle, subject line, and CTA. 4. You notice that your welcome flow has a 45% open rate on email 1 but drops to 12% by email 4. What do you do? 5. Have you built SOPs or documentation for an email program before? Describe what you documented and why. 6. What's your weekly reporting structure? What metrics do you report on and what do you do with the insights? **Details** → Remote, ongoing contract → Klaviyo is non-negotiable — if you don't know Klaviyo deeply, this isn't the right fit → Reports to: Founders + coordinates with Creative Strategist → Brand: Savaya Botanicals (supplements, DTC, Shopify) **Apply with:** → 2–3 examples of Klaviyo flows or campaigns you've built (screenshots or case studies) → A short message about your experience with DTC email marketing and subscription-based brands → Your answers to the screening questions above → Your monthly or hourly rate We're looking for someone who treats email like a revenue engine, not a checkbox. If that's you, we'd love to hear from you.
