AI/ML Engineer (AI Agents Expert) Needed to Understand Existing Codebase & Build Advanced AI Feature

Project Overview I'm looking for an experienced AI/ML Engineer with deep expertise in AI agents, LLMs, and modern agentic frameworks to join my project. The primary responsibility is to thoroughly understand my existing codebase, identify how everything works, and help design, improve, and build advanced AI agent capabilities on top of it. This is not a greenfield project. I need someone who can quickly understand an existing architecture, think like a systems engineer, and contribute as a technical partner rather than simply writing code. Responsibilities Study and understand an existing AI application/codebase. Analyze the current architecture and suggest improvements. Build and integrate AI agents into the existing system. Design multi-agent workflows where appropriate. Improve reasoning, memory, tool usage, and orchestration. Integrate external APIs, MCP servers, and third-party tools. Optimize prompts, workflows, and agent performance. Debug complex AI workflows and production issues. Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code. Collaborate on feature planning and technical decisions. Required Skills • Strong Python development experience • Expertise with LLMs (OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini, or similar) • Deep understanding of AI agents and agentic architectures • Experience with frameworks such as: LangGraph LangChain CrewAI AutoGen OpenAI Agents SDK LlamaIndex • RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) • Vector databases (Pinecone, Qdrant, Weaviate, Chroma, FAISS, etc.) • MCP (Model Context Protocol) and tool integrations • Prompt engineering and structured outputs • Function/tool calling • Memory management for AI agents • FastAPI or similar backend frameworks • Git and collaborative development Nice to Have Experience deploying AI systems to production Knowledge of Docker and cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) Experience with observability, tracing, and evaluation of AI agents Experience with multi-modal AI Knowledge of workflow automation and orchestration What I'm Looking For I want someone who: Can understand a large codebase quickly. Thinks critically instead of just following instructions. Suggests better architectures and implementation strategies. Writes production-quality code. Communicates clearly and proactively.
