RF Engineer — ERRC/BDA System Design & Equipment Spec (need it within 48 hours)
Worldwide
We need an RF/wireless engineer to design a targeted Emergency Responder Radio Coverage (ERRC/ERCES) remediation for a 3-story self-storage building in Pennsauken, NJ, based on an existing professional grid test report. Background: A PCTEL SeeHawk Touch grid test was already performed and shows the building failing IFC 510 / NFPA 1225 coverage requirements on the Camden County P25 trunked radio frequencies (770-774 MHz range). The failures are concentrated in specific interior zones on the 1st and 2nd floors — not building-wide. The 3rd floor passes cleanly at 100%. We have the full test report (15 pages, including floor plans with grid overlays, dBm readings per area/critical point, and equipment calibration data) and will share it with the selected freelancer. Scope of work: Review the attached test report and identify the specific coverage gaps that need remediation (we can point you to the failing grids/areas already, but want your independent confirmation). Design a targeted BDA/DAS remediation — NOT a full-building system — sized specifically to bring the failing 1st and 2nd floor zones into compliance, while leaving the passing 3rd floor untouched. Specify equipment: BDA unit(s), antennas, cabling, splitters/couplers, battery backup, enclosure — with make/model and part numbers where possible, sized correctly for the actual dB deficiency shown in the test data (not oversized). Provide a rough cable run / antenna placement plan overlaid on the existing floor plans (we'll provide architectural floor plans for the affected floors). Deliver a bill-of-materials / shopping list with vendor sources and approximate pricing, so we can get apples-to-apples quotes from installation contractors. Out of scope: No permit filing, no PE stamp/sign-off, no AHJ coordination, no installation — we're handling those separately. We just need the engineering design and parts list. Ideal candidate: Experience designing BDA/ERCES/DAS systems for IFC 510 / NFPA 1225 / NFPA 72 compliance Comfortable reading PCTEL SeeHawk grid test reports (dBm, SINR, FBER data) Familiar with P25 trunked radio systems (this is for a county public safety trunking system, not cellular) Can work from existing test data without needing to re-survey the building Deliverables: Equipment spec sheet, BOM/shopping list with sourcing, basic placement plan/markup on floor plans, brief written rationale for the design choices.
