QA Engineer with SQL

Axiom provides outstaffing and recruitment services, supporting clients with IT, Back Office, Support, and Market Research roles, and successfully manages complex remote IT projects worldwide. We are currently looking for a QA Engineer to join our team and collaborate with our partner - a consortium of organizations specializing in molecular biology, medicinal chemistry, and biotechnology. The company operates a CLIA-certified clinical laboratory with multiple state licenses, providing advanced automated DNA-based molecular analysis for chronic and infectious diseases. The group is also involved in genetic research, drug screening, clinical trials, and the development of diagnostic and pre-clinical treatments aimed at improving patient outcomes. The project focuses on a laboratory testing platform that stores, manages, and processes test data - essentially a CRM system for laboratory operations. Responsibilities - Understanding requirements for new features or change requests including their database updates - Helping developers debug and explaining correct workflow whenever needed - Testing as per requirements and other related scenarios - Creating/understanding SQL queries to create or get test data - Creating test cases document for assigned tasks - Doing share screen demo on group call whenever needed e.g. new feature demo Requirements - Certificates in Quality Assurance would be a plus (ISTQB, etc.) - Previous experience in Quality Assurance or a similar field - Working knowledge of tools, methods, and concepts related to Quality Assurance - Working experience in Agile methodologies and teams - Experience with JIRA, Confluence, Asana, or analogs - Excellent data collection and analysis skills - Strong attention to details - Strong verbal and written communication skills in English - Experience with SQL for creating and understanding queries - Knowledge of back-end technologies; experience in back-end development is a plus Working Conditions - Working schedule: Monday to Friday. - The standard working day is 8 hours, with 8:00 AM – 3:00 PM EST being the online availability period. - The position is offered as a freelance contract. - Days off and vacations are granted upon prior approval from the employer.
