We are recruiting on behalf of our client in the food and beverage industry in Japan. The client is a licensed alcohol import and distribution company working with breweries and wineries from Europe, the Americas, and South America that want to enter the Japanese market. They need capable professionals to lead English-language online business meetings with these overseas partners. We are hiring two people. What you'll be doing: Study the provided materials on your own (business overview + industry background). Full study materials and a prepared Q&A are provided. Hour 1 — Briefing: the client explains their business, services, and the current situation to you. Hour 2 — Live meeting: you lead an online call with an overseas manufacturer. You run the meeting: present the client's business, ask questions, and answer the counterpart's questions. A member of the client's team joins the call but does not speak — you are in charge. The client has similar meetings regularly and wants people who can continue long-term once they understand the business. What you'll need to understand: This is the Japanese alcohol import business. You'll learn how alcohol importation works in Japan (licensing, liquor tax, labeling rules), how the market is structured (wholesale, retail, restaurants and bars, e-commerce), and how foreign breweries and wineries enter Japan. Materials are provided — but you must be able to absorb them independently and speak about the industry with confidence. Requirements: We are looking for someone who can lead a business meeting in English — all meetings are conducted in English. Japanese capability is also required: not for the meetings themselves, but to understand Japanese society, business practices, and the market from the ground up. A citizen of Japan, or a resident of Japan with Japanese capabilities. 20 years or older (the business involves alcohol). Strong self-study ability — able to get up to speed on an unfamiliar industry from prepared materials. Available within the next week; meetings take place early morning or late evening JST due to overseas time zones. Compensation: The listed budget ($100) is a placeholder for the initial engagement. The working proposal is $30–40 per hour, with the exact rate finalized in discussion. The initial engagement is the briefing hour plus the meeting hour, paid per hour, with ongoing per-meeting work after that.
