Enterprise Credit Card Processing Expert (Large Volume)

We are seeking a senior-level credit card processing expert with proven experience analyzing and optimizing large, relationship-managed merchant accounts. This is not a small-business or SMB engagement. Our processing volume is well into nine figures annually, and we require someone who has worked with $500M+ annual processing portfolios and understands how enterprise pricing actually works. The objective is straightforward: reduce total credit card processing costs through expert analysis, qualification improvements, and competitive re-bidding. Scope of Work You will be responsible for: - Deep analysis of current credit card processing statements - Discount fees - Interchange categories - Qualification downgrades - Assessments, network fees, and processor markups - Identifying missed or suboptimal rate qualification (Level 1, Level 2, Level 3) - Pinpointing hidden margin, padded basis points, or non-standard fee structures - Recommending concrete operational or data changes to improve interchange qualification - Preparing the account to be shopped competitively - Assisting in or leading RFP / bid comparisons with alternative processors - Translating technical findings into clear financial impact and savings estimates Required Experience (Non-Negotiable) Please do not apply unless you meet all of the following: - Direct experience analyzing enterprise merchant accounts with $500M+ annual processing volume - Hands-on expertise with: - Interchange-plus pricing - Tiered and hybrid pricing models - Level 1 / Level 2 / Level 3 data qualification - Visa, Mastercard, AmEx, and network assessments - Experience working with relationship-managed processors (e.g., large banks or enterprise acquirers) - Ability to identify both pricing issues and process / data issues that affect qualification - Comfortable pushing back on processors and validating or refuting their savings claims - Strong financial and analytical communication skills (this will be shared with executive leadership) Nice to Have - Experience running or advising on enterprise processor RFPs - Background in payments consulting, fintech, or large-scale retail / distribution environments - Familiarity with card-not-present and omnichannel processing environments Engagement Details - Initial engagement: statement analysis and opportunity assessment - Follow-on work likely for processor shopping and negotiation support - Hourly or fixed-fee acceptable; please propose what you believe is appropriate - This is a results-driven engagement — expertise and impact matter more than time spent To Apply Please include: - A brief description of your experience with large ($500M+) processing accounts - Examples of savings or improvements you have delivered (no confidential names required) - Your preferred engagement model and rate - Any assumptions or prerequisites you typically require to deliver results We are looking for a true payments expert, not a reseller, broker, or junior analyst.
