Environmental / Urban Climate Design Engineer

We're looking for an experienced Environmental / Urban Climate Modeller to support a masterplan-scale outdoor thermal comfort and urban microclimate study. You'll turn conceptual masterplan geometry into reliable environmental simulation outputs and use them to test design interventions that improve thermal comfort. This is a fast-paced, deadline-driven engagement — strong candidates are comfortable working through rapid iteration cycles and delivering clean, well-structured outputs and visuals. What you'll do: Prepare simulation-ready geometry from masterplan models Build environmental simulation workflows in Grasshopper Run baseline and optimization simulations at masterplan scale Identify thermal hotspots and test multiple intervention scenarios Deliver structured outputs, comfort maps, and clear visuals Must-have skills: Outdoor thermal comfort analysis (UTCI / PET) Solar radiation and shading analysis Rhino 8, Grasshopper, Ladybug Tools, Honeybee ENVI-met, SOLWEIG / UMEP, Dragonfly Parametric Grasshopper workflows Large-scale urban / masterplan modelling Optimization / scenario testing Nice to have: Radiance / EnergyPlus, OpenFOAM / Butterfly (CFD) Pedestrian comfort studies; coastal or hot-climate project experience Background working alongside urban planners and architects Experience level: ~4–8 years in environmental / urban climate simulation.
