We are building an AI-native sourcing engine for recruiters. The system understands a hiring mandate, searches the market, evaluates candidates with evidence, learns from recruiter feedback, and refreshes candidate packs when the initial results are too thin or off-target. We are looking for a senior backend engineer in Europe to help turn our working prototype into a reliable production system. This is not a prompt-engineering-only role. We need someone who can build and debug real AI workflows: APIs, databases, async jobs, LLM structured outputs, retrieval/ranking, cost controls, and evaluation harnesses. What you’ll work on Backend APIs and workflow orchestration Supabase/Postgres data models and migrations LLM-based structured output pipelines Candidate search, ranking, and evidence extraction Recalibration loops based on recruiter feedback Cost-aware approval flows before paid actions Observability: logs, run traces, model cost, failure reasons Regression tests/evals for candidate quality Ideal experience Strong backend engineering experience Postgres/Supabase or similar database experience Async workflows, queues, retries, idempotency, state machines Experience building production LLM features, not just demos Structured outputs, JSON schemas, token budgeting, model routing Search/retrieval/ranking systems Comfortable debugging complex multi-step systems Europe-based engineers only, please. We will start with a paid test task before moving into a longer engagement. You should be comfortable reading an existing prototype, understanding what works, and improving it without breaking quality. We care about reliability and candidate quality more than flashy AI demos. Please include: A short note about similar AI/backend workflow systems you have built.
