Experienced Blog Writer
Worldwide
1. Summary: We’re looking for an experienced technical content writer who well understands the precision CNC machining / precision parts manufacturing industry in the United States and Canada. We need someone who can produce high-authority, inquiry-triggering articles that sound like a real manufacturing professional: accurate terminology, realistic shop-floor constraints, and credible viewpoints. You will research our competitors’ content and positioning, identify gaps, and create stronger, more useful, more persuasive articles. This is an ongoing role (monthly content). We care about quality, originality, and technical correctness. 2. What you will do" • Write long-form blog articles for Batnon’s website (typically 2,000–3,000 words). • Build deep topic understanding: CNC processes, tolerancing, GD&T, inspection/metrology, DFM, materials, surface finish, quoting/RFQ, lead times, quality systems, etc. • Research and map competitor content: • Identify what competitors claim, how they structure content, their proof points, and what they miss. • Create content that is more specific, more credible, and more differentiated. • Do full SEO + GEO execution for every article: • Keyword research (primary + secondary + LSI/semantic terms). • Search intent mapping (awareness → consideration → inquiry). • Outline planning based on SERP intent and competitor gaps. • Internal linking suggestions + CTA placement. • GEO (Generative Engine Optimization): write in a way that is easily quotable and retrievable by AI search/answer engines (clear definitions, structured sections, concise summaries, FAQs, and “key takeaways”). • Research what the audience actually cares about: • Buyer pain points, QA/engineering objections, purchasing concerns. • Common failure modes, tolerancing trade-offs, inspection risk, cost drivers. • Review research (forums, Q&A sites, industry publications, spec sheets, standards references) to capture “real-world language.” • Propose and validate trending topics and content angles relevant to US/Canada buyers. 3. Required expertise (non-negotiable): 3.1 Industry understanding (US/Canada) • You must have familiarity with precision CNC machining for production parts and prototypes in North America. • You can write naturally using professional manufacturing language (not generic marketing). 3.2 Competitor-driven research and differentiation • You must be able to review competitor websites/articles/copy and produce content with unique standpoints and deeper insight. 3.3 Strong copywriting + clarity • You can write technical content that is still persuasive and readable. • You can convert complex topics into clean explanations without losing accuracy. 3.4 SEO + GEO competence • Proven experience writing SEO content that ranks and converts. • Understanding of GEO tactics for AI-driven search results. 3.5 Keyword research tools • Very familiar with keyword tools (examples: Ahrefs, SEMrush, SE Ranking, Google Search Console, Google Trends, Keywords Everywhere, etc.). • You can deliver keyword sets and justify your choices with intent + difficulty/competition signals. 3.6 Originality / plagiarism • Plagiarism is not acceptable. You must produce original work and cite sources when referencing data, standards, or third-party claims. 3.7 No AI-generated writing • AI creation is not acceptable. All content must be written manually after deep research. • If you use AI for non-writing support (e.g., brainstorming or outlining), you must disclose it in advance and get approval. Final article wording must be human-written. 3.8 Research skills • Skilled in: • Trending topic research • Competitor research • Audience behavior research • Review research for better copy (forums/Q&A/industry discussions) 4. Deliverables per article Please include the following in each delivery: • Google Doc or Markdown draft of the article • SEO package: • Primary keyword + 5–15 supporting keywords • Search intent + funnel stage mapping • SEO title options (3–5) • Meta description options (2–3) • Suggested URL slug • Suggested internal links (based upon existing website pages/blog posts) • GEO package: • Short “Key Takeaways” block (5–8 bullets) • FAQ section (5–8 Q&As) written for clarity and answer-engine retrieval • Research notes: • Competitors reviewed (links) • References used (links) • Key differentiation notes (“what we say that competitors don’t”) 5. Quality expectations • Accurate terminology: machining operations, tolerancing, inspection methods, materials, finishes, fixtures, etc. • Clear trade-offs: cost vs tolerance, inspection burden, manufacturability constraints. • No fluffy filler: every section must add value. • Strong, professional tone: credible for engineers, QA, and purchasing. • Conversion-focused: naturally encourage RFQ/inquiry without sounding pushy. 6. Nice to have • Hands-on shop or engineering background (machinist, manufacturing engineer, QA/inspection, applications engineer, estimator). • Familiarity with standards and concepts such as GD&T (ASME Y14.5), surface finish, ISO 2768, inspection planning. 7. To apply (please include) 7.1 2–3 relevant writing samples (preferably CNC machining / manufacturing / engineering) 7.2 Brief description of your industry background 7.3 Keyword research tools you use (and how you use them) 7.4 Your process: like “ research → outline → draft → SEO/GEO → revision” 8. Screening questions (required) 8.1 What is the difference between tight tolerance and functional tolerance? Give a real example. 8.2 For a precision CNC part, what factors most affect cost when tightening tolerance from e.g. ±0.05 mm to ±0.01 mm? 8.3 Which keyword research tools do you use, and how do you decide search intent? 8.4 How do you research competitors and produce a differentiated article angle? 8.5 Confirm: You will not submit plagiarized work and you will not use AI-generated writing for the final article. Paid test assignment (short) 9. We will start with a paid test: • 1 outline + intro + one full section (800–1,200 words) • Includes: keyword set + competitor links + differentiation notes If the test meets our standards, we will move to ongoing monthly work. 10. Working style • We provide topics. • You propose outline and keyword set first. • Then you write the draft. • 1–2 revision rounds included. 11. Notes (optional to keep/remove) • If you want, you can add: expected rate per article, monthly volume, turnaround time, and time zone, communication requirements.
