Experienced Bookkeeper for Financial Reconciliation

Job Description: We are looking for an experienced bookkeeper to assist our team with a one-time financial reconciliation project for a completed research initiative. Our goal is to ensure all transaction records, including complex cryptocurrency activity, are accurately categorized and aligned with standard accounting and tax reporting requirements. Project Overview: Our team recently completed a 16-week project involving multi-channel transactions across various platforms (Wells Fargo, Mercury, Coinbase, PayPal, and Wise). We need support to clean up the financial data, account for hidden transaction fees/volatility, and prepare a final, clean ledger. Responsibilities: Review and reconcile financial data across multiple bank and crypto accounts. Identify and categorize unaccounted transaction costs, including bank fees and crypto-to-fiat conversion variances. Work with our team to verify ledger accuracy. Ensure final reporting is properly aligned with tax standards. Requirements: Proven experience in bookkeeping, ideally with exposure to international transactions and/or cryptocurrency-related accounting. High attention to detail, specifically regarding tracking "hidden" fees and conversion losses. Ability to work efficiently on a one-time, project-based engagement. Professional and clear communication. Deliverables: A reconciled final financial report summarizing assets, costs, and remaining balance. Documentation/audit trail for all reconciled transactions.
